Found these in my ammo lockers

At the bottom of one of my ammo lockers I found these



The have a use before date so I'm wondering if they have some sort of componet that breaks down.

Has anybody ever used them?

They are 12ga and is very specific about loading one at a time otherwise big boom

I think those are bird bombs.

We used to hear those going off in the orchards near our house in the Okanagan.

If they are the same thing, they let off a whistle as they travel through the air and then explode a few seconds later.
