Was out at the range with my unfired AR180B-2 on the weekend, to sight in, and shot off about 100 rounds. All I can say is... WOW!

This fits me perfectly, with very quick acquasition of the target through the iron sights, and a very natural posture etc. With elbow on table and 64 gr Federals, 3.5 inch group at 100 is easy. Standing delivers about the same at 50. I will need to borrow a rest to fine tune it, but I had to much fun and let my buddy shoot as well, so the ammo went VERY quickly.

The night before I stripped it down, cleaned and lubed, and put her back together... again, WOW! Easy-peasy-japaneasy... At the range in -10 deg C weather, no FTF, no FTE, no issues with the mags. I didn't find any problems with the trigger either... in the cold with gloves it was perfect.

Here are some pics and when I figure out how to post movies I will do so...

Ar-180

I just picked my AR-180 up yesterday but it's the prohib model. Have any of you shot the old 180 and the new 180B models to compare them?

They are great guns but it scares our brave MP's on the hill.

I need a QD scope mount for my 180 if someone has one they want to sell send me a PM.

Can't comment on the 180... but Astor Arms has an original scope mount/rings...

Thats a nice looking rig, probably the best bargain in a non-restricted black rifle. I am really kicking myself now for passing up on one for $1200 NIB. I doubt we will ever see that again.

Since the receiver is the "licenced firearm" part, can you put a regular AR upper on it and still take it out for gophers and such?

I'm probably way off the truth on this... but isn't the upper on these considered the reciever, and isn't it not able to take AR 15 parts?

i believe some parts of the trigger group are compatible, and there are stock adapters. thats it though, no other similarities.

doesnt take AR uppers, complety different operation. if it took an AR upper, it would be an AR varient, and restricted.

Damn. Ah well...thats why I have the CZ with 18.5" barrel. Heres hoping one day, someone smartens up and de-restricts the trusty AR.
