Anyone own a Sauer 202 ? Thinking about buying the classic model, just wondering what people think of quality etc. for the money.

not me!

I dont own one but covert one!

I have read widely about them and a number of things hold true for most owners - exeptional accuracy, great ergonomics, tight tolerances, the take down feature is very precise, good looking, tough and reliable, more traditonal and more affordable than other Euro switch barrels, although granted, not as much versitilty in modular changes as say a Blaser 93.

Almost every owner I have read of online is very happy with them.

good luck with that!

I played with a pair last fall. I had 2 hunters from Holland with them. gorgeous rifles. super slick actions and they balanced very well.

the cons: extremely tight tolerances -this is a rifle that must be kept CLEAN.

as much as I drooled over them, they are really designed with a euro stand-hunter in mind. and at the price, not something I would be investing in for my type of hunting.

Had a look at one a year back, take a good once over , the gun I looked at had one side of the forend touching the barrel, the other side had a big gap. I would say moisture maybe, heck , no way it left the shop like that.
I did bring it up (this was in Ottawa) fella sad it was fine:D

I have a sauer 200 3006 with: 300 winch mag barrel, 300 wby mag barrel and 308 winch barrel. You also have to buy the magazines to go with the barrels. Before the US changed the rules, barrels, magazines and accessories prices were reasonable for this model and the sauer 202 which is the same gun.

I had a sauer 200 years ago as well. Smooth as silk action, very accurate. I loved the front sight that had bronze tip. I regret selling it.

How do you find the recoil with the 300 roy barrel?
