Note to mods
wasnt sure if this was a bona fide milsurp or in rimfire forum feel free to move
Hi guys
i just got back from the Bud haynes Auction
as per usual almost everything was going for stupid prices , then this little gem came around
its a nostalgea piece for me as i shot one when i was an Air cadet
I hadnt intended to bid for it as i figured it would go for a silly price too
well the bidding started a lot lower than i thought it would so i went for it .
poor piccies im sorry
Broad arrow marked and a 51 on wrist strap presumably year of manufacure .
number 8 Mk 1 on the side SC stamped on the top of the bolt .
where were they made? anyone know the history of the Mk 8`s?
Oh i paid $315 for it fees and tax inc
i figured i got a bargain , most definately worth three dancing bananas lol

I have had a chance to have a good look at the old girl now , it looks like she was drilled and tapped for a standard #4 peep sight
parker hale peep see piccs. and there are a number of "F`s" stamped on ilots of parts including leaf sight so presumably that makes it a fazackerly made , and untill i wiped the bottom plate i diddnt see this number befoe F over 49 over CR345 (different from serial number A73XX of believed 22500 rifled produced)
the other numbers on wrist band indicate year of manufacture as F51. 1951 maybe ?
looks loke she had a deep graze in the wood and someone inlayed a piece in
just though i would share this with you guys.
