Supernova vs Wingmaster?

I dont doubt that the Supernova would be a better gun for dedicated waterfowl hunting, but try and get a turkey or slug barrel for it later on if you want something shorter. Benelli Canada (Stoeger) is an absolute nightmare to deal with and I would be much more comfortable buying a Remington here in Canada.

You have to watch the reciever on any Benelli product. As I was told there is a difference in quality. The reciever can either be marked BenelliUSA made in the U.S and A, and the other is BenelliArmi that is made and assembled in Italy. Apparently there is a difference in quality I am told. With the Italian being of superior quality.

So what is the difference?

Supernova

From what I can gather all of the crio barrels are made in the USA, the actual Benelli receiver and stock are made in Italy. There may be shotguns that all say made in the USA but they would be in the states. Stoeger Canada brings them in directly from Italy, hense all of the Supernovas in Canada will have the Benelli Armi Made in Itally stamp on the receiver.

Check and see if your barrels say "Made in USA".

Wingmaster. Hands down. And don't believe the nonsense that they arent worth the extra money over an express.

Express' feels like garbage when pumped. Wingmasters feel like silk. At least my two do. And for those who cringe at taking it in the field. Learn to clean you guns after you use them, its that simple. I use mine for all my shotgun needs. Grouse, waterfowl, turkeys, and deer (pushing through the thickest junk imaginable), and it still looks good. Does it have a few handling marks, ya, but its not a safe queen. Its not meant to be a safe queen, its meant to be used. And it does it job superbly.

Thats it...

Well thats it I have made my decision im buying a Supernova 28" in matte black for waterfowling and hopefully I will add a 24" field barrel for deer and turkeys in the next year or two. I have just put down a deposit on one and im gonna get it next week. I am also gonna save up and try to locate a good used 870 Wingmaster in 20 gauge.

Supernova 12 gauge 28" and 24": Geese, Ducks, Turkey, Deer

Wingmaster 20 gauge 26": Pheasent, Rabbits, Squirrel, Grouse

I have an 870 syn 3" and my brother inlaw has the supernova. Shooting clays at the club i thought the 870 was a far more graceful gun to swing around and came to the sholder a lot sweeter than the Benelli. I got my Rem cuz it was a good deal and something I could fit for any kind of activity on the list. bought a 32" Barrel on Nutz for turkey this Spring and have a 28" Barrel with a choke set for waterfowl or skeet. It's the swiss army knifes of shotguns

Go Wingmaster and take care of your guns properly.

The Benelli Supernova has absolutely hideous Eurotrash styling. :puke:

If cost is an issue, there are lots of serviceable used 870s kicking around.

I've shot both guns and owned more 870's than most. I've also shot a lot of rounds through them and have NEVER had a single failure of any sort. Although for function I pass on the wingmaster and go with the express super mag. There's nothing that gun won't kill.... I also find the sight alignment and overall feel of the gun better with significantly more control than the Benelli....

Great choice! You will be very happy and with a lighter load you won't need the Wingmaster at all
