I am in the process of getting my ATC for wilderness carry at work. I am looking for a high quality leather shoulder rig for my Blackhawk bisley 6''. I want it to be top notch and very comfortable. Anybody have any suggestions as to factory holsters, or custom makers?

If I could carry in the bush I'd go for the classic "tanker" style..

I'd think any holster maker could make you own for your Bisley and you could maybe get something made with a flap for foul weather.

Not leather but I can tell you from experience that the Bianchi tuxedo shoulder holster system is a very comfortable carry method for both wheelguns & semi-autos.... Google is your friend..... ;)

I have mernickle for my 106mm ruger super redhawk, his craftsmanship is the best I have ever seen.... very nice and CHEAP !!!

you will #### yourself when you see how cheap....

Has anybody used any of these holsters? It needs to be comfortable as I will be wearing it 10-12 hours a day in hot conditions.

See my post on page 1. Yeah, I have lots of experience with the Bianchi tuxedo shoulder holster system. It's not leather, though. But it is comfortable.

I doesnt look like they make the bianchi for a blackhawk. Besides, a classic handcannon like that deserves a nice piece of leather!

Too bad... and I tend to agree that a classic wheelgun looks great in leather. But for ease of comfort in carry, regarding weight and fit, I have found the Bianchi tuxedo system is the way to go with that method. I've had leather ones in the past... heavy, bulky & binding as best I recall. Good luck in your search, though.

It's not a shoulder holster but I carry my Ruger SRH .454 Casul in this Mernickle rig.

I also have an Uncle Mikes shoulder holster for the SRH but I've never used it in the field.

I have an M7 shoulder holster that I have used to carry my G17 in the field. it's OK but there are probably better rigs out there. It was a tight fit as it is a 1911 holster.

I have quite a few Mernickle holsters for CCW/ATC/cowboy action etc here is the link to Bob's site http://www.mernickleholsters.com/ I also have his speed loader pouch, double layer belts 1 1/4" & 1 1/2" widths and a couple of 6 round bullet holders.

Bob is from Mission, BC and also used to run the fast draw club at the Mission Rod & Gun Club.

I have these holsters on for up to 12 - 14 hours a day in the summer months they have been holding up very well and I have been very happy with them.

I was prospecting between Port Albernie & Bamfeld yesterday during the snow storms it snowed about 1' I was wearing the shoulder holster it functioned perfectly and I did not worry about getting it covered in snow.

Saw a 3 point elk and 5 cows... :)

Here are links to my holsters for my 4.25" Ruger SRH I have a cross draw & shoulder holster for ATC carry.

I had Bob modify the shoulder holster with a wider belt that goes around the back and put the thumb break of the cross draw holster onto this one as well.

I really don't remember the cost I worked with Bob on doing the changes and I know him personally so he may have done some stuff at a better cost than he normally would.

It does not stand out as being very expensive though.

I am supposed to be coming out to the Kootenay's next month and will have the holster/handgun with me pm me the first week of March I should know better when I am leaving.
