Is there no such thing!? I've been searching, but with no luck. I've tried several sites but nothing is in stock or available. I don't want one of those synthetic stocks with the built in grip, I'd like to keep the wood. I just want to have a pistol grip and Banana style magazine for that AK looking style. I don't want to make permanent modifications, but if need be, well we'll see. Not having a lot of luck on finding larger mags either.
Any help is appreciated.

This isn't really the place to ask questions like this (probably should go in the Red Rifles section where the xperts are), but I'll go out on a limb and say that I've never seen anything in WOOD stocks like you're looking for that aren't custom made ones.
Really you should just sell your SKS and buy a CZ 858 or VZ 58 rifle instead, which come right from the factory with a pistol grip, but still shoot the cheap ammo as the SKS.

Given the wood construction of the SKS stocks I'm going to suggest that this would be difficult to modify or adapt for a pistol grip. Your best bet may be to go to your local hardwood dealer for a nice chunk of walnut and chisel out you own design. Use pine to practice first.

Well it is possible to put a pistol grip on an SKS-D It will require a mounting hole in the stock.
( a permanent modification to the stock )
This one has a remington 870 (add on) synthetic pistol grip.
It was easier to use this as mounting nut is in the handle and comes with the bolt, and grip base plug
Mounting angle and grove for trigger guard must be modified. To get a good fit.
Also access hole for takedown cleaning is needed. So you don't have to remove the pistol grip.

Here is a photo
Wood stock, pistol grip, Sks bipod, scope mount, 6x32 scope, tac light,
muzzle brake, metal hand guard, shell deflector.
also laser sight and AK mag. It also has a bedded, front lug in fore end for front battle grip.

Yes I Know it is bubba'd but that's what was wanted, and that's what I did for him.
The stock was painted black then sanded off till patterned to taste.
$199.00 gun with about $400 add on's.

It has to be said: an SKS with a pistol grip is as near useless a gun as I can imagine. If you want that look, buy a CZ 858 as mentioned. Has the "banana" magazine, pistol grip rear, and side folding, low profile metal stock.

Aw come on "Ardy"
It makes it easier to hang onto when your emptying
your 5 round clip. Willy nilly down range

Personaly I think the scope is the useless part.
They are not known for accuracy.

Hey thanks everyone, glad to be part of the CGN's. Thanks for the welcome (Tiina), the insights and suggestions. Thanks for the suggestion Proonur, I'll take my question there, sorry I've never had much experience with this kind of site and communication. I sure as heck appreciate the input from everyone anyway. As far as doing something different like a Tasco (as everyone else does), nah, I want to do what I have in mind. I don't want something that looks like everyone elses, nor something that resembles my Armalite AR-15. The weapon cost me $225, that's less than half the price of 1 of my scopes, if I screw it up, I can afford another if need be. What I really want is to keep it looking original if I reverse the modifications, and the grip is the only issue. I'm not trying to put a silk hat on a pig, I'm just trying a cheap experiment. Useless, maybe, but I'm not going to war or hunting to provide my sustenance, I'm dressing it up to my liking. If it turns out looking crappy in others opinion, oh well, if it gets screwed up, oops.
JPCBIRD, Thanks for the photos. That is more or less what i was looking for. I've seen another using a rem or moss grip, I think I'll try that. I don't really want to whittle one, but I will if it comes to it.
Thanks everyone.
