Tikka t3 VS Savage 12BVSS

Thank you KDX for the article.The savage 12bvss has a 1 in 12inch twist and the 12 varmiter low profile comes with a 1 in 9inch twist and only one hundred dollars in price difference at epps.Is there a very big difference in accuracy between the two twists

Both should be equally accurate both for different bullet weights. The slower twist is best with light bullets while the VLP 1:9 works best with 55-75grs bullets.
 
If there's not a major price difference go with the Tikka.
That being said you can't lose going with the Savage IMO, either.
 
My 12BVSS has the 1-9 twist. *EDIT* mine is a .223, sorry, I did not see the .22-250 part.

As was just said the Sako would make for a better gun. However, the cost is a factor. Side by side I would go with the BVSS. Having used both the savage ( for me at least ) was far more accurate. The Tika has better fit and finish but it all depends on what you want. My only complaint on the BVSS is it sure is heavy to lug around but it wasn't designed to be a walking around gun.
 
Tikka & Savage

That would be like walking out of Walmart thinking you got a deal.You will see more of these for sale on EE than anything else. Buy a REMINGTON 700 and you'll never look back.

Remington 700 actions are good. That being said you will have to spend 900 to 1100 dollars to get a good remington. Stay away from their sps stocks they are junk and i have personally shot a brand new 243 sps dm that grouped 8 inches at 100. and before you go saying it is me i have a tikka 22-250 that i can group .5 moa and i can group my brothers savage model 10 predator 22-250 at .6 moa with re-loads. So i guess i am saying go with the savage or tikka and you will not be disappointed. I would stay away from the cheap remington.
 
If you have any interest in swapping barrels or changing accessories in the future, get the Savage. For the hot rodder....

There is precious little for the Tikka but it is very nice out of the box.

My tikka gets 0.5" groups on good days with cheap ammo and I really love this rifle. All the other features (action, weight, reliability) you probably know about. Can't comment on the savage.
