Hmm... I would have expected better grouping at 100M than that. Were you benched, or freehand? How does this compare to your personal groups out of other rifles?

Except that the Mini-14 is literally the WORST performing .223 in the history of the world.

They shoot worse than Chinese SKS's.

Personal experience, or anecdotal? My both my old 181 and 580 Mini-14's shot almost the same groups as hid's M4 did here (some larger, some smaller depending on the ammo), so the CQ must be fighting now to be the best of the worst.

Nice pics BTW hid. Keep us updated if you smooth out the trigger some. :)

I'm leaning more and more towards one of these instead of building one part by part. The ambi parts would be great for my left handed daughter and if she beats it up I don't think I'd mind so much.

Forgot to ask, the next time you do some shooting I'm hoping for a range report with iron sites in close say maybe 25 m or less with some fast double taps.

I was thinking the exact opposite. Better than or equal to Mini-14 accuracy out of something made in China...

The Mini-14 is quite notoriously the most inaccurate rifle made in the developed world post World War One. Most users report 4-8 MOA as the norm. Beating that is no feat.

I was more mystified by Hid's reasoning that after shooting several factory and handloads, none of which did better than about 2.5 MOA, that he thought this rifle has potential to be a MOA shooter.

Could it be his skill limit and not the rifles?

I can't shoot moa, even if you gave me a benchrest gun.

At least I admit it.

Have him shoot something else to compare to ffs.

Don't want to hijack here, but do you mean "most users", or "most users on the internet"?

There is a difference. Big difference.

Be pretty tough to survey "most users" anyways, as that number is in the tens of thousands.

Also remember people will complain before they'll praise, so once again anecdotal evidence is not an indicator of anything.
