Resizing die

I have 2 sets of RCBS 357/38 special dies. One dies works great the other resizing die has never worked, it always crushes the casing or tears it in two pieces leaving half inside. The die itself looks great I can't see anything wrong with it at all. I even tried case lube to no avail. Has anybody else had this issue?

could it be that it is not properly set? There should be instructions inside the die box or even in a different set you have. The set up on most dies is basically the same.

RCBS is known to have a really good reputation for customer service and warranty. Give them a call or send it to them with a note.

Maybe the carbide ring is out of wack or there is a burr in the die. Could you be pushing a 357mag into a 38 sp. only die?

Sounds like the die isn't set up properly to me too. Possibly too far down. Although, like vagrantviking says, one of 'em may be a .38 die. A .357 won't fit. There should be a stamp on the die saying what it's for.
The bottom of the die should just kiss the shell holder with the ram all the way up.

Its a resizing die alright or I think it is. It is excatly the same as the one I replaced it with. On the to is "RCBS 38-357 size 84" it is a carbide die just never got it to work.
