Hello all,
I have a chance to buy a Colt Anaconda 4" 44 mag. revolver in excelent shape, no box or papers. It's wearing Colt rubber grips. It is a private sale from an elderly gentleman from my club.
What do you think would be a fare market value of this revolver???????
Thanks, as always, for all who input.

I sold mine two years ago for $650.00... my ass is still hurting from me kicking it. Right now I don't think that $900.00 to $1000 is unreasonable, depending on condition.

Prohibited Value Rule.

There are a few exceptions to the Prohib value rule. The Prohibited value rule or PVR, as coined by me, represents or shows the value of prohibited handguns.
The PVR states that since the dastardly Liberals created the prohibited class of firearms, firearms so designated may only be bought and sold by members of the prohibited class. All other buyers and sellers are left out. So, the PVR says that prohibited class firearms are worth C$10.00 up to C$300.00. As with any rule, there are exceptions. The Anaconda so noted is one of them.
Since the Anaconda has the least production of Pythons, Diamondbacks, then Anaconda's, even as a prohib it has some value above the PVR.
Therefore, in 95% conditon, a prohibited class Colt Anaconda is worth C$500. to C$750.00. You gotta really like and want it for $750.00.

i'm partial to anaconda's and pythons and even king cobra's. i'd have no qualms at all in parting with a g for a minty anaconda. heck my 686 put me back close to that and i'd take a python or anaconda over it any day of the week and twice on sunday :)

X2, no matter how nice it is, it's still a 12(6), I wouldn't go over $600 and would grab it at $500.

this is one of many reasons you never sell a gun. but mainly due to the fact that 9 out of 10 times you kick yourself later for doing so.

what would the value of these 12.6's jump to if they ever abolished the prohib class.

Prices would go nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
12(6) would be worth more then restricted class, at least for awhile. Wishful thinking though, I think it's here to stay.

PVR.........the old story of the Fox & the Grapes again.

I remember dad reading me the Aesop fable of the Fox and the Grapes.

A fox saw a bunch of grapes hanging on a vine just out of jumping range and after it exhausted itself unsuccessfully trying to get at them it said, "Heck, those grapes are probably sour anyway !"

We all have a tendency to downplay what we can't have.................human (& fox) nature.

PVR..........a rule of thumb made up by GUNNUTZ who would give their right arm & testicle for a 12-6 endorsed PAL.

My snubbies & compact pistols in my opinion are indispensable for CCW purposes.

I get a kick out of a couple of friends of mine who pretend a full size 5" bbl. auto loader carried under the belt in one of those hard plastic holsters is comfortable.

They walk around bent over like they have a bad case of the sh!ts and you can see the big red welt in their flesh when they take their guns off.

I don't even notice my Colt Cobra in its small holster on my belt. My hunting knife is actually a lot bigger & heavier than my carry gun.

You guys have got to think more positively ahead to the day when FA Section 12 is repealed.

I guess we're all different...:) Of the 200 + guns I've owned and sold, I've never had a second thought about one. I just like having the opportunity to try different stuff.
