cz 97 b nylon bushing?

i've heard the cz 97 uses a nylon bushing?

1. is this only used on the 97 or does the 75 series use it as well?

2. how long does this thing hold up?

can't say im wild on the thought of having a part that needs replacing every couple of years (im guessing).

was comparing this to a 1911 not sure which one i will get yet. i imagine the old colts are pretty robust.
 
I think you are refering to the "recoil spring guide rod". On both the CZ75, 85C & 97B, these are made of a type of polymer material.

The the CZ 75 does not have a separate barrel bushing. The CZ97B does & it is made of steel.

Both my 85C & 97B have the polymer guide rod. I have lots of rounds through both & no wear showing on either rod.

There are aftermarket full length steel guide rods available for the 97, however these do little more than make a sale for those who manufacture them.:D

The CZ75B & 85C have to be modified to accept a full length guide rod. There isn't a hole in the front of the slide to accomodate one.

As the others have said the 97B has a steel barrel bushing and a plastic recoil spring guide. If you are thinking of using the pistol for IDPA though I think you will need to keep the plastic guide as even a stock length guide in steel may put you over the weight limit for SSP.

All guns (that I've ever heard of) will require some maintenance and replacement parts eventually. If you go to the range once a week and shoot 100-150 rounds per trip you'll at least need some springs.
