My buddy Jamie and I went out to Vancouver Gun Club today and shot in our first Pacific International Trapshooting Association shoot.
We both did pretty well shooting in "B" class, it was very windy when we shot singles. Not sure how, but we both will recieve some money from the looks of it! (not much as less than 50 shooters today, I think). Jaime placed 3rd in Handicap which was worth $17 and change, I think I placed 3rd in singles and get $22..... but the bragging rights are priceless! :)
I shot 93/100 singles, 80/100 20yd handicap, and 86/100 doubles, Jaimee was 90/100 singles, 87/100 handicap, and 61/100 doubles (only started doubles this year, shot it less than 10 times).
They shoot tommorrow too but I have to work. Looks like Vancouver hosts again in a few weeks (march 21-22 ?), we should be there.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and plan to take in more shoots around the province. Maybe Kamloops, Kelowna, and some on the Island.
Thanks to you guys who post here, the information is appreciated.

93 in singles is pretty good considering you were shooting in Windy Vancouver :) I love shooting there, it is my favorite club to shoot regardless of my scores. If you need any info on the shoots comming up in Kelowna jsut let me know and I can get it to you. Our first is at the end of March.

I shot in the PITA multiplex shoot on Saturday in a snow blizzard and about -8 degrees. Things were going well until post 5 where the bird blended into the part of our field that has melted and you just couldn't see it. It was harsh.

We need this snow to melt and for it to stop snowing in a bad bad way.

Dude you keep spelling my name wrong. It is Jamie!

Sorry dude...... :)

Jacky, we plan to come up that way and shoot. Is that march 27-29? I just started working on a major project at work but it should be done by then.
Jamie and I will probably be shooting at Vancouver again on March 21-22 and Langley April 4-5. Let you know if we are heading up.

ahhhhhhh First P.I.T.A shoot and hooked already. Yes it is adictive. I my self went to the trap range so i could lean to shoot ducks better. Should of stuck to hunting. Havent shot for a few years. Tell the old timers that they better watch out Burke is getting the itch to start shooting again. I think they will still remember me .

Ou first shoot in Kelowna is the 27th ( doubles not included in HOA) and then the 28th and 29th, 200 singles, 200 handicap and 100 doubles. I am going to shoot Langley in the pre-provincial shoot this year and Vernon around the 12th or so.

If you want a great shoot in August you guys should drive to Rock Creek. That is a first class shoot. Homemade meals that are second to none, great trophies, nice targets with a consistant background and just all around great people running the show. They get a nice turnout as well.

We in Kelowna hold a good August shoot as well just prior to the Labour Day shoot in Vernon. These shoots are big turnout and big money. I like the one weekend 500 bird events best. Those big shoots are not nearly as fun.

You 2 should make your way out to Calgary for the Canadians.
If your that good right out of the gate, imagine what it will be like come summer.
Congrats

Jamie
