First impressions were favourable. Rifle comes in standard carbine sized cardboard box. It comes with 2 mags pinned internally, nylon sling, green oil bottle, cleaning kit that contains 4 piece cleaning rod with nylon chamber and bore brushes. It also comes with instruction manual.

Rifle was coated in grease, but wasn't that bad to clean. Furniture was standard, very little difference from milspec fare and that includes the detachable carry handle, everything locked up fairly tight. Finish wasn't the same quality as a Stag or LMT but not too bad at all. Nothing to worry about. The bolts finish was excellent, no tool marks and looked milspec.
Now I did replace the pistol grip with a rubber ergo type and a Magpul stock. I also added a YHM flip up sight to the flat top, I would of did that anyways with any new AR rifle.

Went to the local Rod and Gun club outside St.John's. It was fairly cold and overcast and had a light winds blowing from in the NE. I managed to drag my good friend Thunderflash with me who was not sold on the quality and accuracy of a Norinco product.

I had a variety of ammo available to me.
Winchester white box both 55 and 62 grain,Guatimalian 55 grain milsurp,SA 55 grain milsurp,AE 55 grain FMJ,and Wolf 55 grain FMJ.

I used the standard Fig 11/59 targets. Mag was a 10 round LAR-15 mag imported by Questar. I did use the mags that came with the AR afterwards with no problems.
Here is pic of yours truly getting ready to shoot.

First Target was at 50 yards, Winchester White Box 62 grain. 10 rounds cold barrel unsighted.

Made some adjustments and went to a target at 100 yards. A little better but more adjustment required.

Went for group using bulls eye target at 100 yards. A couple of flyers but not too bad.

A picture of the brass used. Nice solid strikes on the primers, brass was in excellent shape no dents.

A comparsion picture between my milspec Stag AR and my new Chincom one, not much of a difference.

When on to shoot some more using both iron and eotech sights with different types of ammo. Eotech fit like a glove and worked well. I found the brass was thrown fwd to the right in a nice little pile. Most of the ammo shot well, however I would stay away from the Wolf 62 grain ammo, they didn't feed that well. The rifle loves the 62 grain Winchester whitebox with the AE 55 grainers a close second. I think accuracy could be improved with the addition of a accuwedge.
Conclusion that the rifle for the price is an excellent value and I recommend it to anyone.
Special thanks to Thunderflash who was invaluable in spotting for me, providing helpful advice and helped out with the sighting in.
Thunderflash is now considering buying one.;)
Don't buy one, buy two.

These are starting to look like a solid "2 inch" gun, but don't worry guys, when I get out with mine it's reputation will be ruined :D. Did you try swapping the uppers and lowers? My upper is very tight on my Armalite lower.

Never tried any swapping, although I don't see a problem. I can see the groupings getting better with the addition of a accuwedge. Also the conditions wasn't exactly nice.

Seems like the problems described in controversial posts about other Norinco clones have happened while using HAND LOADED ammo.

A cartridge case partially filled with fast burning pistol powder after failing to clean the powder reservoir and feed tube on a progressive press between reloading jobs would result in the catastrophic destruction of a rifle as described previously in this thread whether it was a Norinco clone or an original. I personally think that is what happened with the problematic guns.

Has anyone had any catastrophic problems with these guns while using factory ammo ??

I don't think anyone has had any problems with any ammo yet. Or are you thinking this is another Norinco M14 thread?

Has anyone figured out how the hell that sling goes on yet. I feel like a kid trying to tie his shoes for the first time

its a 3 point sling. It took some time for me to figure it out (and I'm used to them)... If you cant get it I'll post a pic.
