Norinco M4

They have ambi-safety, ambi-mag release, tactical sling and two mags.

Are the Mags true STANAG mags or are they "proprietary" mags like the ones that come with the T97? (FWIW the T97 mags are tanks and I much prefer them to the other AR mags I own - they just aren't interchangeable with AR rifles).

They're STANAG, they look like USGI aluminum mags, painted black over the anodizing.

The receiver extension is commercial spec.

Will you be getting a shipload of mags along with the rifles? I mean, you know how we dearly need cheap mags for our rifles, right?

You're dreaming in technicolor. If this feeling is based on any of the speculation above, I asked the people making "bets" if these were based on any actual fact or knowledge, and they both replied, no (well, more than that, but the answer remained the same). Their guesses are baseless.

I'm not slagging you or anyone else, just stating what is.

Here is a list of entry level M4 style rifles as of today;

Frontier Firearms
-S& W M&PM15 $1699.95
-Imp Defence MG4A5 $1699.95

Arms east
-Various Stag models $1460-$1850

P&D
-Bushmaster XM-15 $1550
-Remington R-15 $1250

Blue-Line
-BL-15LEI $1499

Average price to get into a brand new, complete, entry level North American made(except for the Imp Def.) M4 style in Canada today = $1536

Call the new Norc $900.......56% the cost of a Domestic M4.

Now, take into account the new Norc comes with goodies that are aftermarket for most rifles, such as a spare mag, ambi safety/mag release, as well as detachable carry handle........and you are getting approx $180 in extra value off the top.

I think these are a good price, with range reports to come in over the next 2-3 weeks we'll see if they perform. Now, as far as Marstar going to be cheaper......well, it is just a guess, but having seen what they have done before, it is a pretty good educated guess.

Just got the confirmation from Armseast that my M4 has shipped.

All I can say is EXCELLENT service and communication from Walt.

I could have bought locally from Lever, but felt that dealing with Armseast would be a superior experience.

range test m4

went to poco today with my m4
function test about 200 rounds, some factory loads, some handloads
running 100% , no problem :D
will try to do a range report.

John from Marstar has posted they will be under $800 in a previous thread . So the guess would be from $700 to $799 . But they will not have them for a couple months . Even at $895 they are a good deal as far as I'm concerned .
I was going to grab one now & pay the few extra dollars but the dealer who sent me a PM never bothered to respond to the PM I sent them back so I guess I'll wait for Marstar ( Not that they are any better at responding )

Decided not to wait for Marstar . Spent the extra 100 or so & ordered on Sat .

I got an e-mail from Marstar saying they have the Norinco M4 ordered but not an ETA.

Getting a T97 someday, so Ill wait until Marstar has it before I order a Norc M4

I have yet to shoot mine as I'm presently on night shifts, so I'm only speaking from aesthetics.

I very much wish I could afford a dozen of these - my feeling is that they are going to become quite common in Canada if a steady supply is available.
