ar's in quebec need help

The entire point of the CFC/CFO/C-68 is to discourage gun ownership.

Quebec is just farther along the planned schedule than everyone else. Ontario is a close second.

Why not have a buddy in a GUN FRIENDLY province buy the AR15, then "lend" you the gun... Assuming you have your Restricted class firearms licence, this is allowed... THEN you start the paperwork to transfer it to yourself...

NO WAITING!!! And, you have to admit, there simply is nothing like GIVING it to the man... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is completely allowed and above the board!!!

Cheers

If anyone can confirm this, I'll be making friends in Alberta very soon.

but at that point why have a registry at all if we all decided that we will lend each other guns for 100 years for a nominal fee it would be all over

Now you boys are thinking!!!

esquif, your idea is seperate to the route I proposed, BUT I LIKE YOUR IDEA!!! Just not sure about all the fine details...

But, I am almost 100% certain you can LOAN the gun to your buddy... So, if he paid you to buy the gun, you then LEND him the gun and start the transfer to him... 100% legit IMHO!!!

Cheers

I bought an AR15 last December and it was delivered to me in less than a week. Maybe Ontario isn't so bad afterall...............NOT! Not as bad - maybe!

Perfectly legal to do... The SQ (and I'm guessing any other CFO) will only need a "procuration" letter saying that you authorise such and such person to borrow said firearm for this lenght of time...

Done it a few time with my dad and a some other friends... If you really want to mix up their paperwork trail, get the owner to lend the gun to somebody else while it is still in your possession :D

You'd still need an ATT to do anything with it. If the CFO sees the transfer request and the ATT filed around the same time, they may very well just wait until the transfer is processed to issue the ATT.

Bought my AR in december 2008. Still waiting...

Phoned this week to know what was going on... the b**ch to the other end told me it was due to some extra procedures. Procedures that are "confidential", she told me.

Damn that's real bulls**t, I dont remember anything referring to AR's in the Anastacia Law. They only refer to restricted firearms. So if pistols do not suffer the delays then something is fishy here: there must be a ruling that have been adopted or some internal order behind that. In the first case, the ruling don't hold if the law don't delegate any powers to the minister to adopt rules. In the other case case, it is not supposed to have any effect.

I'll take a look at this law again to see if powers are delegated to the minister and see if all this crap hold. Lawyers being behind that law I sadly guess it will.

"Funny" how the provinces uses their legislative power in Public Safety to pass on any law they want, by-passing powers excluvely detained by the federal parliament. I bet that when the Public Safety excuse will fail they gonna start using the Public Health alternative.

S**t s**t s**t!!!! I must confess I'm a "separatist" (I'm more for something close to a confederation) but GOD I HATE MY PROVINCE!!!!

well guys that are not from qeerbec pls do not post how little time it took to get your m4s cuss it like getting kicked in the nuts every time.
My Restricted VZ58 was purchased at 11.a.m., I had the gun with ATT at home by 5.p.m.(In Ontario,of all places):D:D

Well.

An FOI could provide some info.
However, since I've never been charged with anything I doubt they got anything substancial on me. Still I'm curious to see what info they greedily stacked, like parking tickets, speed tickets, walking on the streets after 10 p.m., throwing snowballs at stop panels when he was 10, farting at the church...

Richard at Latulippe told me it could take up to 4 to 6 month when he sold it to me. After 3 months I don't feel something is wrong. Still, I am pissed and I wonder why the f**k?
