Less then 48hrs in Alberta for restricted of any kind.![]()
i was told that when u buy a m4 or ar varient in quebec there could be a waiting period of 2 to 4 months but i called the cfo and was told it could take up to 2 weeks for restricrted so wahts the deal?

Does the waiting period apply to people who've already owned an AR15?
None what so ever. I have 2 AR's already and I'm still waiting for new 2 lowers bought in the beginning of Dec 08
i buy uppers and have only one lower so no wait
That makes no sense whatsoever. By their logic, the waiting period is to prevent "crazies" from just buying an AR and "going to town", but you already own AR15s, so what's the point of additional waiting periods?
Thats a bit besides the point...we need to reclaim what was once ours. Our laws should reflect the rest of the country...we need something irrefutable that will convince the cfo here to back down...what argument could we use that would give us sufficient leverage for our cause?
But I thought Quebec was special & unique ?
[/QU that it is my freind.
Purchased an assault rifles in january and was told it could take 4 month...arrrrrrggh! Might be willing to move to Ontario!
And what about the "anastasia law".We are now officialy forbided to bring a gun at kindergarden or in a school yard.Way to go Jean Charest! Keep on spending our money to make brilliant laws like that!
I bought a lower receiver 12/12/2008 , been waiting since then .
I called yesterday to ask what was going with that and spoke to an RCMP clerk , of course , all was fine with federal side of things , the problem resides on my provicial side . I asked to be tranfered and lady that spoke to me , was very nice , but obviously not very quick . here's how it went .
" Why is this transfer taking so long ? " She answered because they have to build a profile of me , I asked her how they go about that , she stated that they do more background checks and make sure the "restricted rifles " end up in the right hands . I started laughing , as I already own 5 Ar 15 , and a few pistols , other restricted rifles ect... She told me my application for my latest acquisition is on the desk of the "last" person in line , but she is overwhelemed with work and should expect to wait another month or so ... I was thrilled and felt very special and dinstinct indeed .
Only in Quebec ... Its all on purpose to discourage people from buying these types of "evil" firearms . Of course real criminal don't bother with all the red tape , so might as well disarm the honest people and leave only the criminal with guns , makes a lot of sense to me ...
On an other note , to renew transport permit to and from range now takes 8 weeks , as it must be processed . I am sharing this important bit of information because it used to be 2 weeks .
Rant mode now turned to off .
Havea great day !
