EESA Grand Tournament 3 gun match

I only belong to Range Burlington, so my AR is set to 50yds only..

If you (or anyone else) would like to sight in your firearm for "longer" ranges let me know and I will try to meet up with you at EESA prior to the match so you can sight in.

I really enjoyed the google sketch-up you had for the provincials last year.

Those were the result of CK123s hard work I doubt we will go to that extent for these matchers but you never know.

I will have exacting round counts before the matches......

Well thanks to weeman and 7.62 coming out we have the stages designed (still need to draw them out) for the rifle component.

We will have a total of 8 stages of rifle.

Round count is 120 rounds.

Great, when do we sign up????:D

Are you going to open the sign up to all of the events at the same time?

Sorry for the questions Storm, but how are you going to maintain all the competitors with 3 different sign-ups at different times? You also said that the handgun boys/girls will get preferred signups for the other events, but it is the last event 4 months later!!

Enquiring minds want to know!!!

I know this is a new situation for everyone. Just curious how you have planned to work around the scheduling and sign-up. Not trying to bust your b@!!s or anything, just hoping it all works out for everyone!:)

I think you have this backwards. People who shoot the Rifle and Shotgun portions, will have preference for the Handgun Portion, if they didn't they couldn't complete the tournament.

Any open spots, will be then open to people who only want to shoot the Handgun Portion.

As far as I understand!

Yes, you are correct!!

I guess I was thinking about something I thought Storm had said when he was in earlier stages of planning. Sorry for the error. My bad.

It will still be tough to control the sign-ups with preferences to certain individuals I would think. I think Storm will have to pre-register all of the people who will shoot all of the events. As a Match Director he will have the rights to the software to do that. ;)

I, for one, will want to shoot all the events. Never done a proper 3-gun match, and I am looking forward to Storms' setup.:D

Gotta get my feet wet somehow............oooops, I said "wet" when I was referring to one of Storms' matches...........sorry Storm.

It should work out quite easily.

I will be openning the Rifle match ONLY for sign up a few weeks in advance of that match (likely 3 weeks).

At the Rifle match those who want to shoot the Shotgun and Handgun matches can sign up for them as well if they PAY in advance for those matches........There will be a financial incentive to pay up front for all three matches.
I can manually put those people into the matches for shotgun and handgun durring the registration process at the rifle match. EESA has wireless internet!!!

At the shotgun match I will open it up a few weeks in advance and we can again sign up anyone who wants to shoot the handgun match and I can add them manually to the signup at the shotgun match.

When it comes to the Handgun match we can open signup totally a few weeks in advance for those who did not sign up at the rifle or shotgun matches.

I am trying to see if we can extend the match to full squads on the sunday which will add another 30 slots to the handgun portion for those who only shoot the handgun portion.

I think that this is the most equitable solution to running this sort of match.
If anyone has any alternate ideas I am open to suggestions.

Oh and yes get your rain gear ready!!

LOL!

Well It looks like the Handgun portion is being "upped" to a full two day event to act as a fundraiser for Breast Cancer. The Club approved the expanded range time last night. Now I just need to work on getting the EESA IPSC crew on board to help run the event.
With out the school kids helping out I will need more helpers from the general IPSC membership as well.

Right now I am counting on 10 stages, 8 squads of 10

Sounds like fun.
Where can I get more info on what rifles, calibers, optics etc... qualify for rifle and shotgun?
What max distances will the rifle / shotgun be shooting?

Thanks
John

Sounds like fun.

Fun does not quite being to describe it.

3 gun matches are a riot!

Rifles?

Well we tend to recognize Standard Semi and Open Semi.

We have yet to ever see a bolt gun shoot the match but I would not count it out.

Shotgun I have seen everything from a over under to Valtros.

It would be prudent to review the rules at www.ipsc.org

Our longest rifle range is 300m so that would naturally be top end. Shortest would be 2 m or so.

Shotgun I would say that 85 yds is the longest you would see for a slug.

Well I am up for the hand gun portion! Maybe I can kick your butt! ..... or maybe not seeings as I haven't shot in FOREVER due to school!

If any one from Barrie Gun Club is going to this match please PM me if you are willing to deliver a package (not a bomb) to Stormbringer. It would be appreciated.
