Shot size for coyote's

3" 1 7/8 BB with a Carlson's Dead Coyote choke tube. Works great out to 60yds.
Then again, the coyotes here in Manitoba don't have wolf DNA, as far as I know.

I'm curious, do guys hunt coyote for pelt with shotguns? wouldnt that ruin the pelt? or is it better than rifle for shooting at close range?

A shotgun would cause less pelt damage than most rifle rounds. Usually 6-15 small holes, where a rifle, even a 223 can rip a hole bigger than your foot.
Mine have all been shot with 223 or 22-250 and I think 2 or 3 had no pelt damage, where as the other 4 or 5 were torn open.
