picked it up few days ago, shot a couple boxes and decided it needs a make over

super dirty on the inside, i spent a good 3 hours to disassemble and clean every single piece

i sanded off all the checkering on the stock

put a little texture on it

finish with epoxy coating.

i'll finish it with a desert camo when i have time.

automotive bumper texture coating or rock guard would work. this is my poor man's duracoating. the materiel cost is about 10 bucks VS 100 bucks for duracoat kit.
 
i picked the gun up used at a gun shop (reliable guns) everything as is so i dont know where all the bits and pieces came from. it's an older mini, made the early 80's according to the serial# . it's a beater gun for me to try things on and go hunting with .i like the 2 tone look, that's why i didnt paint the upper.

I'm starting my project this weekend. Is there anything that I need to know about painting over the rock guard? I was hoping to use that plus the krylon camo spray cans. Suggestions please.

Second.... how "textured" does it feel? 1 being a baby's bottom and 10 being a brick.
