Swiss Arms - really worth $3000+?

Don't they tend to damage brass, though?

There is a little bit of a ding, but it is not too noticeable. Obviously if your loading out +P+ loads you'll have more of a ding in the brass, but normally it is not too much at all. Not enough to justify the complaining. Unless of course your using Lapua brass

Mine just puts a small ding in the brass at the neck. But... finding the brass again is another story :D. One thing I like about my DPMS LR-308 is that the angle it ejects brass at, causes it to bounce off the booth wall and land in a nice neat pile near the front right tire of my truck :D. The PE-90, it seems to launch it a few stalls over and into the great beyond.

I think I should look into some brass catchers. Or at least stop being a jerk and taking the far left shooting booth  (I actually don't do this).

Maybe the velcro is assisting in keeping my brass in tact. I only get one small indent about halfway up the case. Many times I won't have any idents at all.

I will defintatly have to monitor my brass after it gets fired and make sure to seperate it.

Nick,
I don't have velcro on mine and the ding is also very minor. No issues with that at all.

Almost forgot. I received the trigger replacement parts for the SA. Sorry I've been really busy lately. Should be fun. Thanks

Re:

I wish I could find mags as cheap as $75........good luck now. Nobaody has `em in Canada and they are awful expensive to get from the US......also not legal as they are not pinned.

The real downside to SAN ownership is the availability of magazines these days. Not to mention the price of magazines when they are available.

I guess that's a factor to consider when purchasing SAN...

I just picked up a SAGREEN off the EE with 5 5X20mags & the 2 5rnd mags, plus cheekpeice, Sling, case & trigger kit for cheap, if you keep your eyes & ears open you can get a really good deal & like I said before dont let a round count of 2 or 3K scare anyone out of a good deal with one of these firearms, they are worth it & will still last you a long time.

Thats funny, have you given the gas system the Quarter turn yet???

Hmmm... Good point: I haven't checked the "emergency" gas setting yet, either....

Now, is the Swiss worth twice the cost of an AR?

As someone has already said, for a similarly arranged AR, there ain't that much difference in cost these days, anyway!

If we just use a bone stock AR for comparison, at approximately $1500.... I would personally rate the Swiss as worth FIVE TIMES the price. I will never, ever, buy an AR, and I sure as hell hope I am never again issued one of those abortions!

... Just my opinion, as asked for...

:)

Guess you don't want to hear about zero malfunctions in 10K+ rounds last year with my issue ARs, or that my new stag shoots moa out of the box and has had zero stoppages in the first 1000 rounds I have put through it.

Take your pic The Swiss Arms is a good, reliable, well built iron sighted rifle for +/-$3000.
Or buy a Stag 4R with a leupold optic, 5 mags and a thousand rounds of ammo for less.
