Finally no more snow on the deck! Here's an up-to-date photoshoot, but as always, the lighting doesn't do justice to the camoed parts.

Can I ask you something... and please dont get offended...

but why camo HALF your rifle.. I mean if anything it makes the black upper/lower stand out even more. Why not camo all of it?

Luke

No problem Luke! Well, I am not equiped (sandblasting) to do the steel/aluminum parts, plus I didn't want to touch the receiver/upper/barrel. I camoed the "plastic" or polymer parts because I had bought them in black and wanted to give some rifles a theme (as you would by getting the furniture in desert tan, O.D., coyote brown, etc..)

My first AR. Colt LE6920.

I think it's done... Hopefully :D I'm waiting on a QD swivel from Brownells so I can get the sling attached, and I gotta mount the Vortex. Other than that, I'm kind of happy with the A2 grip... I'm not sure if it's worth 60-70$ for a MIAD... Also, I'm not convinced this 16" AR really needs a light...

Very cool, just one question. Whats the link between barrel length and need for a light?

No scientific link or anything, it's just that in my humble noob opinion if I wanted a firearm to clear houses with I would probably grab something shorter. Or a shotgun. :D

I guess if I wanted this to be my all-around go-to gun... I would pick up a light. But turning this rifle into an all-arounder would require a Spectre DR, which I can't afford atm.

But then again, it's very possible that I'm just making excuses because I'm sick of making a trip to the post office 5 days a week to pick up packages. :D
