Norinco M4

I wonder how the Norc' M4 stacks up against the Type 97 in accuracy.

After seeing pictures of Dr. Lectors 10 shot groupings with the t97 I was sold on it's accuracy given that the shooter is doing his job. The one he was shooting had a trigger job, barrel re-crowning and a skilled shooter but it highlighted the sub-moa potential of the rifle at 100m.

Are these gonna be a regular production rifle or a "limited run" like the M305s?

These appear to be current production in the select fire version now offered to military contracts.

Given the available international market for the Norinco "civilian" version of the M4 it is probably in limited (but readily available) production i.e. available to be series produced for large enough orders but not in constant production.

Western buyers

I bought one at Pullen's in Victoria. A little more expensive at $925 plus two taxes, but no shipping and a shorter wait. I like to support the local stores, as long as their prices aren't too out of line.

I have a strong belief that the Kommunists will be making these AR's for along time to come. Heck, they have had many years to practice getting this simpler (lots simpler to make than an M14) technology tweaked for the modern market. The AR15 science is not new (like over 40 years old) and I would not be far wrong to discover that many AR15 builders from many years back have used sub-contracted parts in AR parts kits and AR15 rifles & carbines.

In the meantime, I'm still working extra shifts to get a Norinco M4 to accompany my Norinco M14.... :nest:

Geez how many extra shifts does a guy have to work for 700-900 bucks? :D
