Hey All, Just got my G17 and went to the range last night. I had a Blast! So sweet, makes me wonder why it took me so long to get a Pistol... Anyway I was hoping to get some tips on maby shooting technique, and perhaps some general cleaning and gun maintenance tips. (Specific To Glock) Basically the Do's & Dont's.... Thanks

One of the big not to do is shoot lead reloads out of your Glock.

Cleaning, some say you should do it after every trip back from the range, but I don't usually clean mine till after maybe 1000 rounds. I know of some that don't clean their Glock for over 2000 rounds. But if you're not lazy like me you can do it after every trip.

Shooting techniques, I think it might be best to ask around your range. Most shooters are generally very eager to help another fellow shooter. I think technique is a very visual thing, trying to explain it over type is a little hard.

Good luck!

Check out the youtube vid from Nutnfancy on cleaning the glock, he's a pretty level headed guy.

There are lots of youtube vids online, I have watched several from Todd Jarrett and others to help me get my technique right from the get go.

Good luck with it. ;)

You're supposed to clean Glocks? ;)

I suppose every few months I get bored enough and do it, but I've never HAD to clean it yet. Only really necessary when then functioning or accuracy starts to fall off. Mostly I just wipe it off and let it be, too much going on to spend the 15 minutes.
