I am considering purchasing a Glock 37 in 45 GAP. My future plans are to do IPSC shooting. My hands are not that big so I thought the since the grip is smaller with the 45 GAP then the 45 ACP that it would be the way to go.
Any suggestions or coments you may have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Get the Glock21SF. SF stands for slim frame. Personally, I feel that the 45GAP will eventually fade away. Sticking with 45acp would be the safer bet. Not to mention 45acp is a lot more common to buy, either factory ammo or components for reloading.

for sure the 45 gap has the same size grip as the G17 and the 21sf is still bigger than the G37 the only downside is the ammunition but if you are in reloading it is not a problem. sporteque.ca has both in stock

Just get a 9mm for IPSC. Glocks are Production Division, so there is no need to make Major power factor.

Will you be reloading or shooting factory ammo? 45 GAP factory ammo will most likely be very expensive and brass hard to find, especially in the quantities you will burn up shooting IPSC.

Don't forget the G20SF version. 10mm goodness for fun at the range with your friends, and then you can throw in a .40cal conversion barrel and still shoot Major in IPSC Standard division.

Thanks for input everyone. The cost of amunition is a factor that will decide it. I don't reload yet but that is something that I am going to have to get into. There is a good deal on a glock 37 in my area and that was why I was considering it. Maybe a 9mm is the way to go.

I've had a 37 since shortly after they came out and its worked great, no issues at all. I reload for it using 45 ACP dies that I use for my 1911 only with a shim underneath to allow for the shorter case.

dont think of the pistol being a good deal , look at it being a money pit ,with that ammo, its expensive, hard to find, not that common, and imho kinda a waste,. get a 9mm 40 or 45, if your shooting alot get a 9, if money is no concern get a 40 or 45, they glock 37 you found is prob cheap for a reason. not many people want it, because of the ammo. ive never talked to anyone who has tried it and said ohh i have to have one.. if your going to shoot lots get something common, if its just a "fun" gun get whatever . and then in that case ,get something in 357sig, now thats a neet round or even 10mm

but thats just me ,and thats what this forum is all about .everyones personal opinion.
