I love the look of the compact SIG. I want a small 9mm for my first range gun, and from what I've read you really can't go wrong with any P series SIG.

Now... for half the price am I a fool to go with the Norinco clone instead?
I've heard mixed reviews, but a lot of them seem to be tainted with the unreasonable assumption that made in China = worthless...

I know some of you guys own them, and I'm hoping to get an unpartial review.

In terms of:
-Ruggedness
-Reliability
-Accuracy
-Ergonomics

How does it stand up to the original SIG, and why would, or wouldn't you spend $350 on one?

Never owned one but someone I know swears by it, loved it but hated the DA. SA was great though.

I love my NP34. It's really well finished and cost only 350$. Far less than half the price of a new 228.

The DA isn't actually that bad once you break it in. The SIG might be a little smoother but for your first gun why not. Buy a Norc .45 while your'e at it and you'll still have money left for new grips, ammo and holsters compared to what you'd spend on a 228.

I am in fact also seriously considering NP-34. 9 mm Luger is still cheap enough and the gun's price is also right. I already ordered 1911A1 sports model TT and should be here any time now. I also want a SIG type 9 mm and the NP-34 should fit the bill just fine. My budget is limited and I do believe Norcs offer great value. My M14 is flawless so far (fingers crossed).

My NP-35 is in the mail. I am expecting it to arrive either tomorrow or the day after. (Now that I've said that, it probably won't show up until Friday!) :D

I bought it for the same reasons that have already been stated:
-cheap ammo
-cheap price
-others who swear by it
-etc.

Hopefully I will have some time in the near future to write up a review for it. I don't think you should wait that long to make a decision though.... order it today!

:D

I've had my NP-34 for about 5 years.....I've never had any problems with it.....I guess some of the early ones had a problem with the rails cracking so I only shoot 115gr....I also recently bought a 2 tone 1911A1 and I love that to......I have alot of Norincos...2 M14s,2 SKS's and these 2 pistols and I love them all....Great products at a great price....

I really like my NP-34, but I want to part with it to get a new Norinco 1911. The finish on it is really good for a Norinco product.

i love the finishing on my Norsigco . for 350 bucks, it's very well put together. it's a clone of the older sig so you cant really compare it to the new sig. but at 350 . it's less than half the price of an used older sig. i'd say get it. shoot the crap out of it and if you want an upgrade ,sell it for 250 , im sure you will find a buyer right the way.

####, some airsoft or paint ball guns cost this much or even more!

Whats a better pistol then, a Np-34, or a 9mm 1911 clone?

Apples and Oranges.

People swear by the 9mm 1911 Norcs, Say they are every bit the equal of other 8 or 9 hundred dollar guns, accurate and cheap to shoot. I'm going to get a Norc 1911 next. I think they are both really good guns.

Norincos are junk. I wouldn't risk a KABOOM in my face just to save money.

Please show some proof, I'd be interested to see it!

Kabooms may happen with any kind of gun, but only one is world renowned for KABOOMS, and that is the GLOCK! So much for "Perfection" ;)

I love my NP 22. I have a Sig Sauer 226 air pistol and it just felt right so I picked the NP 22. First thing I bought was Houge rubber grips, excellent fit, no reshaping. For $325 I got the gun in great second hand condition and 5 mags. Can't beat that. Like I said before, if your going to war, buy the Sig, if your going to the range, get the Norinco. I also bought the Tokarov 54 clone for $99 from CanadaAmmo. Butt ugly but great for my wife. Hey if it get her shooting, what the hell:)

Had one and an NP-22. NP-34 the nicer of the two. Mags better made, shorter barrel (my personal preference since i don't have prohib status), better resale value. Cons are the horrible double action trigger, single was nice though. Definitely one of the best guns for the money.

My brother's got one, which I've used a bit.

In terms of:

-Ruggedness: seems decent; it's got over a thousand rounds through it, and there's no appreciable wear.

-Reliability: I haven't had even one problem with it when I've used it; I've personally put only a couple of hundred rounds through it, though...

-Accuracy: as good as my Glock (take that as a positive or a negative LOL)

-Ergonomics: same as any other SIG :)

I think it was well worth the money...
