A friend of mine is considering selling his model 100 Winchester in .308
It has been hunted but in overall nice shape say 85-90% What would the gun be worth? Not all that familair with this model. Any winchester buffs out there that can help us set a selling price?

Thanks Tikka

The ones we've had in the shop for sale seem to sit a long time at around $400, so based on that I'd say that was tops.

No, not a sear problem. The firing pin breaks and the tip gets stuck in the bolt face, slam-firing the next round.

Call 1-800-852-5734 with your serial number. Google will set you up with hours of reading on this, if you want.

Pre 64 will bring more than the basket weave post 64 models. Carbines seem to be in the middle. $250-450 range. To get top $$$ it better be damn near nib,or be in 90% condition and have a peep sight and extra mag or two. Not everyone likes the recoil from them,so at times they are a hard sell.

What recoil in a semi-308? Mine only likes 150gr bullets for some reason but with Win 760 shoots cloverleafs at a 100 yards..................Harold

My dad had one in the late sixties that was new at the time. It shot well but every once in a while it would double fire. Never did fix that. 308 too.

Around this neighbourhood a very nice one might go $450, with 400 being more the norm for just a nice one. Never seen any diff in price between a pre or post 64 since the only diff is either checkering or basket weave. A carbine might bring you an extra $50. This of course is with no extras like scope, reciever site or clips etc
