So i read a whole bunch of threads about the two and I'm sorta confused. Is the importation of both calibers banned/at risk of being banned? Why is it marstar can't sell the 7.62x54R they have? and is this issue likely to be ressolved? Over all just looking for something to sort of sum up all the legal issues involving the two with out all the rumors and BS that always seem to make this so convoluted. Thanks:D

The czech x39 is still available for sale. The czech x39 tracer got pulled when NRCan decided that they hadn't approved tracer. The czech x54 is not approved for sale according to NRCan either, but I see it come up for sale at the retail level every now and then.

I haven't seen any other x39 or x54 surplus show up for a good long while.
 
Im in the same boat as Dudley, I can't find 7.62x54r surplus anywhere, and was wondering if anyone knew where to get surplus ammo? possibly by the crate.

I have some Polish ball sitting around but I'm scared to sell it in case the VZ59's ever make it to sale and there's nothing to feed them with.
 
I saw on Marstar's website a case of 800 7.62x54r for 199$ however they were 'temporarily out of stock'. I called them and the man said he had no idea when they were getting more in, does anyone know of ANY place (other then frontier) that sells bulk surplus 7.62x54r?
 
i was told that they have it in stcok. actually plenty of it.
but they're not allowed to sell it before it gets approved by natural resources canada.
nobody known how long that could take and if ever it will be approved
 
It's because they use mercuric primers. As far as I remember, NRCan won't spprove marstar's ammo because there is "too much" mercury in the primers. Who cares about all the flourescent bulbs we make, eh?
 
If you see it, buy it all. There is tons around but NRCAN gets their panties in a twist about ammunition every now and then when they want to show the CFC/RCMP they are doing something to help.
