Question for Nightforce dealer

I bought a second handed NF NXS 8-32X56 scope. It is made in Japan.
I thought all NF are made in USA. Also, I notice the marking on the windage knob is weird. It goes from 0,1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1.
I thought it supposes to go from 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.
Do I have the real thing? Or, is this one of the rare NF error?

As far as I know, only the compact NXS and the F1 models are made in the USA, the rest are made in japan and assembled in the state (?¿?)

I have a 3.5-15x56 and the windage are graduated the same as you.

SO, how do you record you windage? Because if you use 2.025 as an example, there could two different 2.025 on the windage, isn't it?

Also, if you look at the home page of the Nightforce website, the windage knob seems to go from 0 to 9.

That would be the Japanese way of counting, similar to reading the books back to front, ahh Nightfarce, good old Japanese ingenuity.

Once zeroed, I suppose you got to take notice the sequence of numbers on the knob and keep track of the amount of MOA on the turret body. The knobs shown on NF's page must be in mils, a dealer might answer better than me for a clearer answer.

Why that "nightfarce" thing again, can you explain us of what grunge you seem to hold against these products?

The japs only build them. Know what, even the S&B Police marksman and the Hensoldt scopes are graduated the same way with numbers facing each other in different directions. I guess 2000$ more than a NF won't fix the situation. Feel free to add something positive as input.
 
It actually makes perfect sense, your windage is zero'd at the '0' position.. then whether you are adjusting for wind to the left or to the right, you adjust in proper sequence 1, 2, 3..etc

Versus, say Leupold, where the windage in one direction would be 14, 13, 12

Nightforce makes more sense to me.

Apparently you get a kick out of calling the product Nightfarce.. I assume you have S&B's on all your rifles??

So once I zero the scope, I should adjust the knob to show "0" position (like 2.0000). Am I correct?

Yes, just back out the set screw on the edge of the knob, place it on zero and screw it back in.
 
Once Zeroed lossen set screw - set windage to "O"- retighten set screw.
To make adjustments rotate left or right to proper MOA adjustment.
Example- Right 2 MOA correction - rotate from "0" to R- 2

That's actually not a bad way of dealing with the windage knob. Similar to how vernier tang sights with a soule windage adjustment is marked. Easier to make corrections back and forth.
 
Actually I do have a solution, don't buy overpriced junk made offshore, King Optics, Huskimaw, Nightfarce, Super Sniper, Leepers, etc.
 
What exactly is up your nose? You spend a lot of time #####ing and being snide and not much actually contributing in a manner that adds to the general conversation.
 
No i am not swayed by TV or advertising, i calls 'em as i see 'em, not into posing, etc. I have and use Japanese scopes/binos etc. but cannot see spending the kind of money wanted for gimmicky, hunt tv, type equip.

Sounds to me like you are too cheap to spend the big bucks on good glass.
There is not much gimmick in optics that work.

The lens's and tubes are made in Japan with the exception of the compacts and FFP scopes.
The parts are all checked, assembled and tested in Idaho.
In conversation with the NF VP a couple of days ago it would appear that NF will be making more of the parts in the US over the next couple of years.
 
Thank you everyone for the clarification. Try out the scope today - it is very nice, clear, and bright.
Now just have to improve my skill.
