EAL at Paris gun auction

There was a very nice E.A.L that sold at the Paris Gun Auction yesterday.
It was serial number #2558. It appeared all intact and was in excellent condition.
It sold for $450. Plus the 10% auction fee & taxes.

I was wondering if any CGN'R picked it up.
Also was wondering if the total $560 was a fair price. What is the going rate for one of these?

Military or civilian version. I've seen excellent military EAL rifles go for $800 and excellent civilian EAL rifles go as high as $650. The price may have been correct.

Did you by any chance notice what the other enfields went for? I really wanted to attend but couldnt make it.

Thanks.

I wonder if Cantom, a great EAL fan, was around ;)

No, no need, I have three different EAL variants already...;)

Those auction prices tend to get insane.

Cantom, I don't doubt the authenticity of the top rifle in your picture. What makings does the rifle have to indicate it's an EAL.

I've seen and owned identical rifles that were marked by other distributors, such as Globe and Golden State Arms. I've never seen one marked EAL in that stock configuration or with that front sight ramp.

Most of the rifles looking like that one, were also drilled and tapped for side mount scopes. Some even retained the mounts and their Tasco, 4x scopes. Now, the mounts were mostly identical as were the scopes. Some of the mounts varied slightly, but the Tasco, 4x was standard on all of them.

It really makes me wonder if Essential Agencies Limited, produced modified rifles for other distributors?
