What powder are you guy's having the best luck with in your 22-250 , I am looking to try something different and just want to get afeel for what others are having luck with.

Hodgdons Benchmark, 4895, and Varget have worked well for me with 50gr Vmax. 4895 was the shining star of the 3.

Varget and IMR4064 worked great in 3 seperate rifles.

Believe it or not Benchmark worked Awesome with 40gr Vmax in my 22-250. It was a 1-12 22 inch pipe. 52gr HPBT with Varget or RL15 works equally as well also!

Im using IMR 4007ssc in my Rem 700 with 60 gr hornady SP. Varget works well with 52 & 53 grain match bullets too

Tried to use Varget but Higginson's was out so substituted H-380 with superb results with 50 and 55 gr. Nosler Bt's. I have a partial can of Benchmark to use up and it has been very good as well but not as good as the H-380.

For 50gr BTs I like 4895 or H380.

For 40gr BKs I like 4064.

IMR 4320 and IMR 4198 make one ragged hole groups for my Sako with 55gn bullets.

38 grains of H380 with a 55 grain Sierra Hollow Point Boat Tail. Awesome.

I use 60 grain Sierra HP with the Nosler loads for 4064, 4895, and 4320 for 200 m. groups of .70, .75 and 1.07 (5 shots)

Theres a lot of great powders, but I'm having boringly consistant results with IMR4895. A fun and very mild load is 29.5 grains of 3031 and most any decent 52 grain match bullet. It's the test load from the Remington Custom shop,if your barrel won't shoot that it's time to think about making it into a jack handle.

or trade it for a 222, because you'd be in the same ballpark for muzzle velocity
