Group Buys - Do we do it on GCN (Possible for Trijicon ACOG)?

Hello all,

Just wanted to check, are group buys OK for optics on this board? I am looking at bringing an ACOG over. As the cost of the importing is not linear, would there be interest (looking at the TA31/TA11 series, obviously some may not be allowed for export)? Alternatively, there are a few dealers around who can bring them in and sell to us lowly non-agency types (i.e. not for work/the unit, but that's a different story:))

What's the interest?

Thanks.

Sorry, not interested in ACOG but I am thinking of AccuPoint TA31 (1.25-4x24 Riflescope, German #4 Crosshair with Green Dot) or TR20-1G (3-9x40 Riflescope, Standard Crosshair with Green Dot). Let me know if I can squeeze one of these scopes.

Importable ACOG is being offered at dealers already - due to sensitive issue related to the application of ITAR, we do not recommend this group buy to take place at CGN.

I can hear it now...

Canadian Al-Quaida sleeper cells bought sniper scopes on the internet.

Es tu Brute?

Lot more ppl getting into the biz...more playing of the waiting game. If the dealers can offer a good group/Mil/LE price perhaps a group buy then? =)

With the whole ITAR business you'll hear different things from different people at different times (much of this due to US DOS). While I would not mind filling out DSP-83 end-use statements, I guess dealers would be selling to the public, so "commercial resale" would be their use? Could this limit what comes in?

Oh well, the wait continues...

The TA31 series seem to float through the EE pretty frequently also. While I applaud the initiative, I can't see it being worth the effort, when the optics are somewhat common and can be had legally at a sponsered dealer.
