Mornin' folks. OK, dumb question time.

I have a new Beretta M9. And its an SOB to load the mag.

At most, so far, I have been able to squeeze only 6 rounds in the 10 round mag.

This severely constricts me when I want to fire off 10 rounds as fast as I can just for the joy of it.

Question: Is there a doo-hickey which assists me in loading all 10 rounds in the mag? My fingers are getting sore. And, if there is such a
doo-hickey, what do you call it? Thanks in advance.

You can try leaving the mag full while in storage until it loosens up a bit. I've had time when I could only squeeze 9 into a 10 rnd mag, but 6? This makes me think there might be something wrong. Either with your mag, or your hands. :D

Maglula

Or look ask for a mag loader on the EE.
A lot of hand guns come with them.
One for a CZ75 should work as well.
It's just a hood that fits over the mag and pushes the follower down while you start the bullet. You then raise the hood and push the bullet to the rear.

There definitely are doohickeys out there to help you reload pistol mags. Never used 'em myself, but one write-up by a gun-writer claimed that this particular brand worked great. Sorry, dunno which brand, it was awhile ago. I'll try to locate the article in question.
I'd have to agree with drvrage, however. Only being able to load 6 outta 10 rounds makes no sense. The last one, I can understand. But a bear to reload @ 60% capacity makes no sense. Have you tried taking apart the mag and inspecting it?

I've had a "Super Thumb" mag loader for 10 years and so far has worked on my Berettas and a Sig 226. It claims to be a universal mag loader. I've never thought to use it on my glock mags cuz glocks come with their own mag loader.

Do as drvrage suggests leave them loaded for a few weeks, also Beretta does make a mag loader it looks just like the glock one (which also works with the Beretta mags)

Are you loading the rounds backwards? :d

Take the floor plate off the mag and hold the spring up so there is a reasonable amount of spring pressure on just one cartridge in the mag. Use sidecutters to clip the spring, leaving a little more spring than needed. Bend the bottom of the spring to shape and reinstall floor plate.

Sounds like a recipe for feeding problems, I'd be hesitant to do this to my guns.

DON'T clip the spring! unless you're looking for feeding problems

Beretta mags aren't THAT difficult to load IMO, use gloves if you have to..or jusat get a magazine loader

Are you supporting the magazine with your other hand w/o additional support? you should rest the bottom of the magazine on a table. It's very basic advice but maybe nobody told you.

I use to have a Taurus PT19 and was hard but not impossible at all to load the last one of the 18 9mm rounds (yes, that's an 8).

Thanks for all the advice guys. I appreciate it. That Uplula doohickey looks fantastic. I will look into it and the other one.

As for the other suggestions:

Yup, I am loading them the right way around. The ones that I do load definitely go "bang" and I mean that in a good way.

Will change my technique to use a table to support the base. So far I have just used my belly which, at age 60, isn't quite as hard as it once was.

Yup, am definitely not a lumberjack. Am, in fact, a retired pencil pusher. Still, I used to be able to load 9-10 rounds into my CZ 75. Geez, I miss that gun. Never, ever sell a gun folks.

Also, using the aforementioned "table technique", will load as many rounds as I can into the sucker during storage to see if that helps loosen it up.

Keep those cards and letters coming, folks, but it is nice to know that a doohickey does exist for just this purpose.

Thanks a bunch. great video by the way. Thanks.
