I am looking for a SxS that does not break my bank. Not much new ones made lately so an used is fine. Not looking to spend over $1,500. Of course, cheaper would be better, prefer something with engraving on it. Suggestions?

I like the russian 58's , but since you got lots a cash, heck pick one.:D their all good in that price range

I don't know really much makes. I like the ones with engraving inlays etc. Only heard of Beretta makes nice stuff but they are too expensive. What make are the russians?

Vintage sxs made in the ussr, these guns were made in several locations, and detail was never the same. A good thing if you get a nice one. They come up on ee as often as fox doubles...
Their are newer sxs's from Russia, 43's I think they are, and those are or can come with silver engraved rx's.

Thanks for the advice guys. Guess the most important is the gun not the engraving as I can always get it done anytime. I took a look at a Beretta one and it felt really nice. Haven't had a chance to take a look at the others for comparison

You checked the EE forum at all? There's at least one Spanish one that has some lovely looking engraving on it for about 1/2 your budget.

There's an issue about quality mind you. But if it arrives and shoots well and you're not planning on shooting many thousands of rounds out of it such as with trap or skeet then it should easily last for your lifetime and then some unless that brand has known issues.

Might not be what you are looking for, but Tradeex (direct link above as sponsoring dealer) has quite a number of doubleguns listed.

Thanks. Do you mind pointing out a couple on EE?

Tradex. I don't know about them. Have asked for pictures before and have been told the sample of 6 I chose were too much work for them. Narrowed it down to 3 and its been 2 month and still no pictuces. I then went to Clay at Prospect and bought to purchase a rifle. Clay is much nicer gentleman

Best deal I've seen on the EE for a good quality SxS is these franchi's. $3500 guns most places. Check out the one for not much over $2000. These shotguns aren't as cheap as you budget but I'd be saving and grabbing one. Actually, I did get one! :) And no, I don't work for these guys but I have bought two guns from them already.

FRANCHI prices at SakoAlberta are very competitive.....better than what one would pay here in ON. Believe those sxs are available both in 12 and 20ga - the 20 would be excellent for Upland in Ontario even though a 12ga is the most versatile.

The following at Tradeex caught my attention..... BRNOs #9358, then #9352.....well made shotguns.

We got a special deal on the Franchi's. Only have the 5 left(actually, these five will be here soon but are not yet in stock-I'llget better pics once they are) The prices we are offerring are below current dealer costs according to my lists.

I agree, the 20g is lighter too, I'd go for the 20 if I decide on the Franchi. I took a look at the BRNO, the pictures appear to be stock pictures. Where are these SxS made? never heard of them
