I also have one, also with a broken sear .... Somewhere between 100 and 200 rounds fired. I already PM'd Kodiak to see if he could get a replacement part as it seems to be the weak link in this design. Hopefully he can get parts for these as it seems that most if not all toz-99 owners have the same problem. Accuracy was pretty good in mine.
My Toz-99 became pretty dangerous after a few hundred rounds. Squeeze the trigger, nothing happens - touch the bolt handle, rifle fires. Sear crack like everyone else I imagine.
I sent it back to Armrus and got a Toz-78 instead, a much better rifle. I suggest you do not buy one, maybe Kodiak would bring in the Toz-78 instead?

Hopefully the factory that makes them has been made aware of the problem over the years and has started producing a modified version with a beefier sear. In all fairness, it's not a "bad" design per-se, just one that has been engineered to fire european ammunition, which is significantly milder than it's north-american counterpart.
For now I'd be happy to just get the spare-part I need (I honestly don't mind replacing it as part of regular maintenance every couple hundred rounds if the price is reasonable), and hopefully a dozen or so spares, it should last me for many, many years of shooting the thing. But since my main semi .22 is a Norinco JW14 from Marstar, I don't really care how long it takes to find the part. Rock solid, and as accurate out of the box as any "souped up" 10/22 worth 10 times it's price that I've ever handled.
The wood on my toz-99 sure is nice though.

I had one of those semi auto's. Shot great, looked great. I have to admit I only put about 75 rounds down the pipe, and it never had a hic-up. I sold the rifle to a member here because .22's really are not my thing, but I really hope this does not happen to him.So I submitted a form to Kodiak to buy one of these things too, waiting till Monday when they tell me where to send the funds.
However, with this persistent problem, what kind of ammo was being used that caused it? Something of hyper-velocity kind, or just your regular 500rnd brick value pack?

I would phone them and tell them you changed your mind.Why would you want a piece of junk that breaks after a few rounds.This guy dosen't even have parts to fix it.
If I'm not mistaken all the toz-99 problems came from one batch of guns sold by another dealer a couple years ago.
The guns I'm selling are from a different importer and are newer. Has TOZ addressed the apparent problem? I don't know. I've asked the importer and hope to hear back.
Of course I will never sell a gun to somebody who doesn't want it. I just want to make sure we are getting information which accurately represents the new guns I am selling today.

Tula usually makes good stuff so I hope your right.A company that makes a tough gun like the SKS, should have no problems making a .22 work.Lots of reviews on youtube that like those little Toz's.
I have heard back from the distributor. They have been selling them for two years and have not had any complaints or returns of their TOZ-99.
