A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services, who pretends no association to the seller and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services. Shills are often employed by confidence artists. The term plant is also used. Shill bidding, found on many auction sites such as eBay is punishable by law [1] and may result in fines and or prosecution.

Shilling is illegal in many circumstances and in many jurisdictions because of the frequently fraudulent and damaging character of their actions. However, if a shill does not place uninformed parties at a risk of loss, but merely generates "buzz", the shill's actions may be legal. For example, a person planted in an audience to laugh and applaud when appropriate (see "claque"), or to participate in on-stage activities as a "random member of the audience", is a type of legal shill.

"Shill" can also be used pejoratively to describe a critic who appears either all-too-eager to heap glowing praise upon mediocre offerings, or who acts as an apologist for glaring flaws. In this sense, they would be an implicit "shill" for the industry at large, as their income is tied to its prosperity.

In online discussion media, satisfied consumers or "innocent" parties may express specific opinions in order to further the interests of an organization in which they have an interest, such as a commercial vendor or special-interest group. Websites may also be set up for the same purpose. For example, an employee of a company that produces a specific product may praise the product anonymously in a discussion forum or group in order to generate interest in that product, service or group. In addition, some shills use sock puppetry where they sign on as one user soliciting recommendations for a specific product or service. They then sign on as a different user pretending to be a satisfied customer of a specific company.

In some jurisdictions and circumstances this type of activity may be illegal. In addition, reputable organizations may prohibit their employees and other interested parties (contractors, agents, etc.) from participating in public forums or discussion groups in which a conflict of interest might arise, or will at least insist that their employees and agents refrain from participating in any way that might create a conflict of interest.

I never met Gunnar, I do not know how he even looks like, I didn't have any deal with him and I have nothing to do with him or his business, PERIOD. Any hint in that direction is pure nonsense and tells more about character who is throwing this than anything else.

However, (from what I found) all who were dealing with Gunnar stated that he is very knowledgeable gunsmith, serious businessman and honest man and apparently his reputation made his business booming. Ask me how I know for opposite (http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=328421 )

Onty is it yours on consignment?

As for the shotgun, nope, it's not mine, I do not like SxS, I prefer over-under and have Brno combo ZH 12-7x57R and 12x12. But I did shoot from time to time my friend's Brno SxS and I know how sturdy is that shotgun because I know how much powder he was loading behind slugs for wild boars.

Seems to me that few folks on this side of pond are aware how good are (especially earlier) Brno guns. They might not have that polish and fancy look like some Italian, German or Belgian guns, but boy, they are tough. I am still kicking myself for not grabbing one Brno Super. It has both Kersten and double under locks (Purdy!?), it has side locks and was also offered as express rifle in 7x65R, 9.3x74R, 375 H&H and possibly 458 WM, but I am not sure about last one.

See http://www.polovnictvo.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=530

Unfortunately, this gun is out of production now. Sorry, do not ask me to translate this text. Somebody from Czech or Slovak republic might help.

Have a nice and honest weekend!!!

So you drove from Mississauga to BC in an hour?

Unfortunately, SR-71 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SR-71_Blackbird) cannot be rented, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer had some some family obligations.

Sorry for this little joke but if you read my last post you will find "...pistol is located North." North of Mississauga, actually, more precise, north of Toronto.

Looks like a nice shotgun. Open up the the chokes and it would be great for grouse and woodcock.

As I said, Brno firearms are not nicest one on the market but barrel steel is very strong. I use to hunt with my friends from time to time with shotgun in quite rocky area and rocks could be quite slippery after rain when you have some mud on shoes or boots. And guess what happens; you loose the grip and, if you are lucky, you will land on padded low end, and gun will hit the rock sooner or later. A handful of us have Brno guns and every one has few bruises and scratches as reminder of what happened in the past. However, none of them has a visible ding inside barrel, and few landed quite hard. I cannot say that for other guns. Some of our folks have guns several time more expensive and when they land hard, you can count that barrel will have very visible ding inside. One note, Brno guns do not have (at least ours) chromed barrels and they have to be oiled; inside and out. Once I was lazy to clean it and apply some oil same evening, and next morning I had seen few reddish spots on receiver…
