Any interest on an East Coast M-14 clinic?

Let me talk to the club prez this weekend to get some dates that Hungry can look at to see when would be best.

I'll run the date past the spousal approval service, and confirm availability of the room downstairs for Hungry's stay. I'm 14 minutes from the airport, and about 20 minutes from the range.

I'll see what can be done about a vise. I have a couple, it'd be a matter of finding an appropriate mount for one or both of them.

Followup will be this weekend.

Hungry, can you PM me your phone # and I'll call you?

So... where and how much is the course and deposit? What kit do we need for this course?I may be able to get a nice work bench from work with a steel top and vice.( will need help with a pick up driver). As far as tooling, what is needed? Thank you

Sorry,

My apologies for not following up with more info.

The spring time-period does not appear to be a go. Summer is not a good time based on shooting schedules, so we're looking to the fall.

Date is TBD, with the "plan" being to run the event at the AMA's indoor facility in Dartmouth on a Saturday, probably late September or early October(ish)

Standby for further details, once Hungry and I are able to get things worked out for scheduling, we'll be good to go and we'll get a thread going for attendees.

Real life (and wives) sometimes trump our ideas.

That said, if there's something immediately pressing as an M-14 issue (ie gas system shimming or such) I have some of the tools and capability to help out already (having attended one of Hungry's clinics, and getting a blessing from him) so if you need something specific, drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

Yup, NavyShooter and I have busy competition schedules to since we actually shoot our black rifles beyond the 100m mound :ninja:

So I'm having to delay my M14 Clinic visit to Halifax for Sep or Early October ;)

I really wanna get out East to help you dudes and get you all started !

TDMX2,

That's the point of these clinics...you DON'T need any tools.

We bring the tools for you (mostly Hungry...he has MANY more than I do) and provide guidance while you do some of the work on your rifle.

I ran a small M-14 clinic about 2-3 years ago or so, only about 6 people in attendance at the NSRA's Bull Meadow Range. Went well, so this will, technically, be the 2nd East coast clinic, but Hungry's first.

Please not Sept 24-26, that's moose season (aka moose weekend) in NB. I havent been drawn for over 10 years but i feel this might be the one... and moose season trumps everything... I really want to attend this clinic, please don't make the moose's #### fall off :ninja:

Good luck with the competitions BTW :50cal:

Yeah NavyShooter....

I'll be available for Sep or Oct, competition season ends then, and of course just before my hockey season starts up. I'm a goaltender and you know what happens when I take a night off, all the skaters get pretty mad trying to replace me... ;)

Can we consider the first Sat in Oct ? That's not thanksgiving is it? :D

TTFN,
Barney

See? Now we're getting somewhere. Anybody with a daily planner needs to know dates now, not in late August. (Fail to plan...)

Works for me.

Ok,

Let me check and see if that's a good date....Hungry and I touched base on this offline a little while ago, but were going to follow up on it later on.

I'll see what I can turn up.

I'm just hoping that NavyShooter can arrange a venue... right now with the SSM clinic on 12 Sep, we have very few people (one right now) and it might not cover my expenses...

The Atlantic Marksmen Association will be pleased to provide an indoor facility on Saturday the 26th of September. (The facility will be our indoor range in Dartmouth.)

If more than 5 AMA members attend the event, there will be no cost associated for the use of the facility, else there will be a $100 charge.

I'll let Hungry confirm his availability for that date, and we'll go from there to start gathering names, and gathering equipment.
