Hi! I am having a hand problem. since I shoot the sig 225 whit the forces I felt in love whit sig. I owne a sig 226R in .40 and I love the gun. I would like to go IPSIC, but my hand are too smal and I can't hit the mag release whit a notmal grip. I need to move my hand around wich his not to good :( and a slow process to reload

I used to have a G17 but hated the thing, I prefer SA/DA
I also want it to be a service pistol. Anny idea at what I should look at

I know you guys will have a few sugestion, but please no glock :p

:(

M&P his doa only ...... grip does look thin

I also think I migh go back to 9mm instead of .40 ammo his cheaper and the frame should be a bit thinner

Actually the M&P is SAO if I'm not mistaken when I tried it. Not sure if it had a DA feature. If you like your Sig maybe look at the Sig 229. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they have a smaller frame.
That's what the OPP issues and some women on the force have pretty small hands and they have to be able to shoot it.

I think I missed that part about the DA/SA...

You can always get a older P220 in 9mm it has a smiler grip than P226...

or if you don't mind polymer I'd say check out a PT24/7 Pro it's DA/SA it's fairly compact for a full pistol, with a pretty small grip.

The sig sp2022 has adjustible grip backs. If you like the sigs than that one might be good for you. Worst case scenario the sig P239 tactical is now in Canada. That's a really small handgun. I'm sure your small hands wouldn't have a problem with that.

lol I am 5 feet 2 and my hand are normal whit mi size :)

Afther looking at S&W site M&P his DA only ;)

I was thinking of a HK usp compack in 9mm, but I never tried that or see anny

sorry can't edit since I am at work  (shame on me), there his also the steyr M it look to have a smal grip (well all toperware gun look to be made out of plastic)

229 has a smaller frame but not a smaller grip....

I used to have a 9mm Steyr M-A1 I ended up selling it and getting the M&P. But if you have small hands it will fit you just fine! the grip is WAY smaller than on a SIg. It's a neat well made gun IMO.

Btw both M&P and Steyr are DAO (but have no restrike capability)...I doubt HK USP will fit yout hands it has a grip modeled after a brick :/

I have cut down Sig grips in the past for people with small hands (myself included). It can be done with files, a dremel and some slow work. As thin as they look, you can actually take a lot of meat off. You'll need skateboard tape after that though. Problem with that is that I doubt they would be IPSC Production legal anymore.

I think the aluminum grips are thinner but I've never tried them and they are expensive. I use Jerry Barnhart's grips on mine. They are factory size though and have skateboard tape directly applied to them.

Honestly I am unsure about striker hand gun... I didn't like the G17 frame was to much square not ergonomic enaugh that what might have discouraged me.

oh yhea! and I was shooting eavry were

Should I take a look at the walther p99 to? it look like I might go whit a plastic pistol. I hown a Walther P22

My SIG226 was a bit big for my hands and I had to adjust the gun to hit the mag release, but the CZ75/Shadow or the Tangfoglio Stock2, both with aluminum grips, fit my hand much better.

If you like the sig, try a P226 with the short trigger, It make a good difference.

my problem his the mag release, triger his fine, slide release his jjust at the tip of my thumb, so it's hard to operate but totaly duable.

I must be missing half an inch or more from the mag release

p99 aint so great. If you are interested in the USP compact then you might find this pistol worth looking at:

of course they have the HK mag release which may be tougher to reach but the p99 is even worse.

I think a lot people do rotate their hands a little bit to hit the mag release...I know I do. Its natural now and it doesnt really take extra time to do. I bring the gun in towards my body for the reload and at the same time i slip the gun a bit in my hands to hit the release button.

actually come to think of it, the hk release is good because its easy to activate with the index finger. Dont even need to move your hand...try one out

The P99 aint so great? What? P99s are extremely well made pistols, ergonomics are very well designed (the now longer mag release is very easy to reach with the trigger finger), the grip is probably the best you can get on a polymer pistol.
The P99 is worth it, it's not overpriced, it's a little expensive because it's a real very high quality handgun, extremely accurate and reliable.

I am in love whit the hk p2000 only problem DA only :( price his good, if I can seel my sig.

Anny one have a P2000 around here? i will try a search but the search function his weird recently.

Anny taught on the new beretta cx4 pistol? that close to what I am looking
