Best 10\22 High Capacity Mag?

I just received two BC steel lip mags from Rimfiresports...only took about a week and a half to get here, nice and quick.

Does anyone actually have a Promag 50rd drum? Are they really sh*t? I heard you just need to break 'em in first. After 75 or so rounds they shroud be okay, any truth to that?

My buddy has the promag drum. Its funny to watch him shoot with it. In the time it takes him to clear jam after jam and fire off his 50 rounds I can go through 192 rounds (6-32 round mags) in my Remington 597, firing 1 aimed shot per second. Stay away from the drum...

damn that promag drum.... its got to be one of the best looking magazines... and its capacity is amazing... how the heck is it still being sold tho.... everything about it is the craps.....

Well, in a couple of weeks, there will be a whole lot of happy CGN members cause my mags will be shipping.

Over the years, I have used and abused the BC hotlips and have had zero issues. I simply have not experienced the issues some chat about. Also, there is zero wear after thousands of rds. Except for the fouling, the lips and follower are like new. Lock up is solid

I have the TI mags and in my receiver, wasn't all that great. Wobbled more then desired. I have been able to tweak them and they now seem to work but it wasn't a drop in like the BC.

I have been shooting a promag 32rd lately. Took a few mags to break in (no machining) and it has been running sweet. Come with a steel lip. Tried it in 3 10/22's and they all loved this mag. Priced well and a few extras coming.

I have will have a few extra BC steel lips that don't have a home yet so PM if interested.

There will be a bunch of promag drums arriving and all that have ordered will be taken care of. Not sure if there will be any spare. I have only seen one in operation and it worked without fault. The owner did say he needed to tweak the feed ramp a bit (sounds similar to the BC steel lips) but now running without hassle.

I find that bullet type plays a large role in function. Plated copper like the Fed bulk and Win Dynapoints/333s seems to feed very well in pretty much any mag. The Win lead points jam like there is no tomorrow. However, I have very little issue with CCI Blazer - maybe the extra lube or harder bullet????

Also, the use of these mag loaders can cause some serious grief. My BC loader can put some serious dents in the case distorting it. Chambers ok but can hang up after firing. Some cases will not chamber due to the dents. That is most certainly not the mags fault but an operator error. Will have to get another loader

If anyone knows how to make the CST bolt hold open device work with the hicap mags, I am all ears.

Jerry
