Who manufacturers 10/22 receiver peep sights? Which one do you recommend? Do you even recommend them?

Also, am also considering scoping it, because of these tired old eyes. Would see through mounts work on this (if i wanted to use the original rifle sights as i dont think i could get a scope mount/reciever sight combo).

I am considering using one of my old but in great shape El Paso Weaver scopes, a 4 power of thereabouts.

Not building a target gun, nor a high end rifle, just a fun plinker.

Thanks in advance.

The man I spoke with at tech-sights was very helpful when I ordered mine. I love the sights, they are a blast to use.

The rear sight takes up the back two receiver threaded holes, leaving only the front two. I 've tried, and it would not be possible to mount a scope as well as having the rear tech sight on; maybe just a red dot on one of those forward angled single rings (like an aim-point clone).

It wouldn't be practical to switch between the rear sight and scope as you'd risk stripping the fine aluminum threads, and the tech sights mounting instructions call for loc-tight, or something of the like.

I'm not too sure I follow?

Mine just fit into the latter two rail-mount openings.

Yes, you use the last two screw holes in the receiver, but the instructions call for putting a thread locking compound onto the screw threads to help lock the screws into the receiver.

lone-wolf must be slipping in his old-age (just kidding, buddy! :p)
Lotta forum to read! So little time...

Personally I just got a set of tech sights from Trotter, so soon I'll be putting them to the test myself. I never had a peep sight before, should be fun.
If they work out good, might make my cooey 64 a peep sighted gun.

The instructions recommend purple thread locker. Trying to find purple thread locker is almost impossible though it seems. All I can find is blue and red. Purple is weaker. Probably could use nail polish or whiteout, whatever those 'cheap' people use.
