I'm from T(M)oronto & having a hard time buying 22lr or 22Magnum ammo.
Went to BassPro & LeBaron a few times over the last couple of weeks & both were NilStock
on most of the ammo that they carry. Asked the sales clerk "what's going on, your shelves shouldn't be empty at this time of year- can't understand why such a large store can be
out-of-stock to this extent!". His reply was that all the 22ammo is made in the States &
their priority is going full blast with ammo for the Military so not much 22ammo is being
manufactured, hence the shortage.
Does this explanation seem plausible to you guys?

Nope no problem here local wholesale has lots of bricks of just about all types of hunting .22 ammo. and I just walked into a store in a town population 2 people (rual gas station popular for ammo sales) and bought 4 bricks and his shelves were full from a new order so I think it's a local problem.

.22 will be in short supply soon. It's this thing that happens every year called spring. FYI I think they are planning on having it next year too. So best to stock up.

I was thinking the same thing about a week or two ago about the low amount of ammo at basspro ! I went back yesterday and thats no longer an issue ! there is lots of ammo on the shelves !!

Which LeBaron did you go to Markham or Mississauga? I bought two bricks of Remington Yellow Jackets at the Mississauga LeBaron just two weeks ago and they had a pile of the stuff.

I just cam back from Grand Forks ND. a brick of 500 blazer is now 17 usd. so ad 25% EXCHANGE and that would be about 21$ for a brick......................

Lots of 22's and 22mag at the wally worlds and CT's outside of Moronto's borders. Was actually at Basspro a few weeks ago and seen the same shortage there but the Markham LB had lots of rimfire it was just not that cheep. Make a trip outside of TO and stock up.

I went to Mississauga LeBaron. I was looking for CCI Stingers & any brand of 40grain,
hollow-point in 22Magnum. They do carry the above but on 2 occasions I went, they
were nil-stock.
They're mostly nil-stock on just about anything you ask for, e.g. a couple of weeks ago went to buy medium-height Weaver scope rings(any brand).....all they had in stock was
the low ones....it seems to me that that's a pretty basic request.

Like "Rod B" says (in #5 thread):
"I gave up on the the local LeBaron store. It seemed like anything I needed was never in stock"

No problem in Calgary at CTire, Walmart or Basspro

Man, where I live in Moronto with #%$@* Miller in charge, there's not even a TRACE of ammo to be found in Walmart or CTire & precious little selection to be found in BassPro!
I guess I'll have to make that trip well outside of Moronto, as inconvenient as that might be, to get a decent selection of 22lr & 22Mag ammo.

Which LeBaron did you go to? I bought a brick of CCI Stingers 2 weeks ago and CCI Longs and Remington CBees last week at the Markham location. I seem to recall seeing Winchester SuperX and Remington Thunderbolts on the shelf. I know for other ammo - they are out of .308s and Winchester AAs (at least in 20ga), but they had the .22LR ammo I was asking about. They just got in a shipment of stuff yesterday - I went in today to get some other stuff and saw that they got in a bunch of new ammo so I bought a case of target shells that is fresh off the truck. May be worthwhile to give them a call to see if they have what you are looking for. They defintiely had .22LR ammo last week and the week before.

They all out of Remington Golden, too?...:p

The 'sauga location usually has .22 LR (I've never seen them out of it, personally). That said, for a CCI .22 retailer, I'm very confused and saddened that they do not carry the .22 LR Minimags as well. Same story with Bass Pro....

Win SuperX has had a serious run-up in price since a couple of years ago...

Do your self a BIG favour.........get on the QEW, go west to Hamilton and go in to a delightful shop called Al Simmons.........you will think you died and went to heaven.
