New CZ SP-01 Shadow

Great looking pistol. Love mine. The FO front sight sure makes target acquisition easy when shooting IPSC/IDPA. I use mine in both disciplines. I had to reduce the Shadows weight to 39 oz with new grips for IDPA. You can order a CZ 13/15 lb mainspring to improve the DA pull.

Take Care

Well, be sure to let us know how it shoots, the trigger does look amazing.

Where did you pick this piece up from?

Island Outfitters. I would #### my pants if I improved the DA pull. It came with an extra spring but its not a mainspring? I was also surprised to get three mags.

Congratulations--I love mine. I agree--the trigger out of the box is unbelievably good and it fits perfectly in my hands. It's my first handgun with FO sights--they work really well I find for both fast, close in shooting but also further back, too.

Then prepare to change your pants! I had the joy of shooting a really nicely set up Shadow before I bought my own. The DA pull was butter smooth and was reduced down to just a hair over the 5 lb IPSC minimum. Talk about SMOOOOOOOOOOTH! However this came from more than just a spring swap. The owner/smith had done some stoning and general smoothing in the DA mechanism to go along with the spring swap.

I wholeheartedly agree with BCRider. I also tried the modified shadow that he's talking about(turns out we both have memberships at the same range), and the trigger pull was a lot lighter and smoother than my stock Shadow was. So much so that I asked the owner of the gun club/shop that sold me my Shadow to work on my shadow. My shadow now has about a 5.5 lb DA pull, as opposed to the stock DA pull which I think is over 10lbs(not sure). Wow, what a difference in my first pull accuracy.

Also, I'm equally enthralled with the awesome trigger reset that comes with the stock shadow.

For the money, it's hard to beat a shadow(Kelly, thanks for turning me on to them!).

ps. If you want to try a shadow with the trigger job, feel free to PM me. I'm typically out at DVC or PCDHFC with my Shadow.

Here's a pic of my baby.

The thin aluminium grips were definitely worth it. Bought from CZ Custom with pretty quick shipping.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost on those grips? <--Nevermind, I found the prices...
