Hmm strange.. Mine lined up perfectly...

Maybe you got a bad one?.....

Now that I look at it again.. your safety slot looks cut out differently then mine. Mine is a long thin cut out, not a rounded one like yours. Maybe it wasnt for a Rem 700?

Aha ! Since I'm an old school NRA High Power shooter.... HS Precision had those made that way (cutout) for the Palma Iron sight mount / base that is drilled, tapped and then screwed on in that location.

Recall that the US M24 Sniper Weapon System had Redfield Palma sights as part of their EIS (Equipment Issue Standard) :D .... Now you know how it's attached to the receiver, or at least WHERE it's attached.

Now on the right hand side by the chamber ? Okay, you're on your own, while I gotta head downstairs and look at my M700 and their synthetic stocks....

All part of the manufacturing process to give you improved LCV (looks cool value) ! :ninja:

If you compare the HS stock on my 700 next to the stock on your 700, I would have to say that your stock looks like it was made for a model Seven instead of a model 700.

Look at the section I outlined in red, besides that, my stock is identical.

^^^^^Perfect post.. look at the cut out for the safety as well.. It tells the whole story....

well im done with it.some one else will have the joy of pissing around with it.the only thing that really pissing me off is i have to eat the shipping cost for something i was told that was going to work.hay we all make mistakes but why does the customer have to pass to learn from them.have to say thank for the leason.and it is from one of the CGN sponsors!!!!looks like will be doing alot more work with alberta tactical and not so much with the spot in manitoba

Meh... if its labeled wrong on the bag, what can you do really.... Mistakes happen, good thing you noticed and didn't try to bubba it in there...

EDIT: never mind, re read it... receipt labeled wrong... ya that blows...

well just shipped it back.it looks like a $28.36(shipping cost) out "lesson learned" on my part.man i just cant see why i have to flip the bill for this....

Who did you buy this from? If it was me, PM me and I'll resolve your problem. We are the biggest HS dealer in Canada and have lots of guns and stocks in inventory and should be able to solve your problem. Phil.

nope wasnt you,but seeing you step up to the plate shows that i should give you a call on a stock ;)

Time I stepped in. This is John at Wolverine Supplies, we supplied the stock in question. We took it off a NIB Remington 700P .308 rifle as we sold this rifle fitted in an AICS.

The customer first spoke to Ryan over the phone and was offered this “take off” stock for $195 and told it was new and had simply been taken of the 700P. We were unaware that this stock was anything but standard.

When the customer contacted us after he had received the stock, he was told if he was not happy simply return the stock for a refund. As a new price for this stock is approx $500, it would appear that the customer is no hurry to return it. We are waiting for the return of this stock before we will process any refund.

Our standard policy is to refund the total value of the goods if returned in the same condition that we supplied them in. If the goods are faulty (as it would appear in this case) then a full refund would be in order including all shipping costs, but we will not commit to that until we have had the opportunity to examine the goods.

This is a large public forum that we do not have time to monitor closely, if you are looking for the fastest response please e-mail us directly.

If anyone is not happy with us, our product, our staff or our service at least have the courtesy to give us the opportunity to correct things first, before going on a public forum.

P&D has the basic HS ones at $515.00..... They are pricey stocks forsure... Fully adjustable ones run around $850.00 I think...

pilgrim:

Merllin is right  I was just at the Brownells' web site pricing out some M700 stocks and I do have an HS Precision stock on my LTR.... I was toying around with the idea of another M700 LTR build UNTIL I discovered their HS Precision stock prices

So my build will go on, but the choice of stock will likely be sourced and determined what I can find from our great CGNutz community (or the EE Forums).

If the goods are faulty (as it would appear in this case) then a full refund would be in order including all shipping costs.

It would appear you did not point this out to him during the second phone call.

Your customer was simply looking here for advice that the stock is indeed faulty. This, in my mind shows no disrespect to you, after all it was your mistake in the first place.

So why did he assume (during the second phone call) that the shipping costs would not be refunded. Perhaps reassuring him that shipping costs will be refunded on faulty goods would have saved you from having to monitor the forms for unhappy customers.

Also, if anyone is ever unhappy with a product or service, they have every right to say so on this form and should be encouraged to do so.

all is good now. i sent to stock out the day i got my return number(3 april).
today i called to see if the recived the stock in the mail(just showed up today),and was told i get a full refund for the stock and all the shipping.i must not have been clear to them when i asked if it was going to be on my dime when i send it back.also its my fault for not looking at the Warranty Policy link at the bottom of there home page.plus they "have the right to charge a 20% restocking fee"(off warranty policy page) that im not getting dinged for.
im sorry
