Norinco M4 CQ 5.56 NATO Carbine

well i am looking to buy this rifle Just wondering if the barrel is chamberd for 5.56 or .223. i dont care if the lower says .223-5.56 on it aslong as the barrel says 5.56 on it.

my reasoning for this is i have heard of high pressure build ups when puting 5.56 into a barrel/chamber .223.

can anyone clear this up for me.

and what are your thoughts on this rifle.

The Norc upper is chambered for the 5.56. As TDC said, any quality AR will handle both loads, even if the marking says 223 Rem. Odds are that for the foreseeable future you won't see any 5.56 at your local gun shop (most of it is being used as fast as it's being made) The Norc upper meets the spec for the M4.

I will recieve my M4 this week. It is cambered for the 5.56 x 54 cartridge so it will handle .223 caliber also. Trying to get 5.56 ammo is really tough.

I was looking at this rifle as well, but I will need to find a club/range to shoot it. From your moniker it looks like you're from Winnipeg, perhaps you could recommend a good club/range in the city. Thanks

i bought a cq 5.56 and it shoots good havent had a problem and it says 5.56 on the gun. It has a 1-9 twist and it is good for .223 or 5.56
