Looking at the Norinco M4 CQ 5.56 NATO Carbine

'bcshooter' what are you getting for groups and are you fairly satisfied with your 'purchase' ?????

Check out my range report in the Norinco M4 thread its post #948
The only real complaint out of the box was a tight collapsible stock . Easily fixed . & the trigger pull was very rough (trigger & hammer could use a little polishing ) But I had a colt trigger & hammer group on hand so i just swapped them out till I get around to cleaning up the one that came with it .
I am very satisfied (So far)

thanks for this post and even making me want this rifle even more:p

I took mine out just for giggles and was very pleasantly surprised. I was on our IPSC style range (no speed limit - I had a hand gun with me for 'serious ' practice), so the distance was 25 yards and the target was my "El Cheapo vital zone" (a 4 inch styrofoam plate). I had centred the rear sight but done nothing else since I was really just function testing and to my surprise I dumped round after round through the plate standing unsupported. All (about 60) rounds clustered nice and tight in a 3 inch circle. I'll have to go up to the rifle range and give it a go at real distance with a sandbag or two. I did find it much more comfortable with my Armalite lower, I discovered I'm not a fan of ambi controls on an AR. I had no problems to feed fire or eject with either the cheep PMC stuff or the even cheaper Win White Box. Incidently the WWB looked like absolute crap - case dings and porous looking brass, is that common for this stuff?

My M4 is a great rifle. I am still getting used to it but it sure is fun to shoot. Gets lots of WTF looks at the range especially when I let go with 10 rounds rapid fire from a LAR15 magazine. I am getting good groups at 50 yards with just the iron sights. Waiting for my scope mount and then I'll shoot at 100 yards as my eyesight sucks. I would recommend this rifle to anyone interested in AR type rifles. I am just using cheap ammo and have had no problems at all. Time to clean it.

I picked up 500 rounds of Remington UMC 55 grn FMJ on the weekend to run through mine, also got some Winchester White Box 55 grn and AE 62 grn to see if there is any difference...still haven't taken delivery of the M4, it's somewhere between NL and BC.

I also picked up the last couple of boxes of AE .308 150 grn FMJ from the same store, and the retailer said he wouldn't be able to get any more of it.

I've seen & handled the Norc M4, not bad at all....for $900 I'd consider one. I have yet to hear a range report but if they are as good as the M14..........................
