If i find myself sitting over a bait, then the Mossy 500 slug gun will be the order of the day.
The T3 that is on the way is chambered for 338 federal, if the missus likes it, she will be packing that for the pooh bear and i will carry my Ruger 77 Mk II all-weather 338 win mag, shooting some nostalgic 250gr winchester silvertips. Should stop em
If she doesn't like it, she will carry her Mod 7 stainless/synthetic in 260 rem, stoked with 120 gr TSX loads. That choice may very well put the 338 Fed in my hands, so i can justify its purchase.
This preliminary round still leaves out my beloved 280, and the savage 99 308 i inherited and resurrected. The 1895 winchester in '06 might be a cool stand gun too. The '94 trapper i have had for 10 years still needs to draw big game blood too, Choices, cripes.....

i hunt black bear every year and i use my remington 700 in seven mill or i take my mossberg 30-06 i keep thinking that that is a little to much gun for them on the island and it all depends on the shot you take or where you place it
