Where to buy AR 308 mags?

A R-25 is NOT an AR.

It uses a different pattern magazine than an AR.

I have not seen a DPMS mag in over a year.

(You should have bought an AR-10)

In case you havent noticed beggars cant be choosers these days regarding availability. I realize it uses a different pattern mag thats why I am asking if someone knows who has em in stock.

Try Questar, they are the original supplier of DPMS 308 mag in Canada

? That is a strong statement.
Is that because they had some listed on their website?

There were other importers of DPMS that could get mags.

And to Big Mike I didn't want to seem like a dik, but I just wanted to let you know AR is for Armalite when talking about .308 and not to buy AR mags... ;)

The only thing I can think of is that those o-so-holy magpul guys will have a DPMS Plastic mag sometime soon.

I have the same rifle and havent been able to find any here. I did learn that the 4 round mag is actually a 10 round mag "pinned" to 4. It is easy to change it to a 5 round mag.

AR is Armalite. Period. No way around it. :)

Not really. :D

That's like saying a Colt isn't an AR-15, a LMT, Stag etc. They're all known as AR-15 rifles even though they aren't Armalite. Plus the Armalite of today isn't the original company :p

Also the mags for the DPMS are based on the original AR-10 design. The current Armalite AR-10 went with modified M-14 mags.

I own both and I like both. Although I think as a range gun I'd give the nod to the DPMS LR-308 (AR-10 :p). Oh and the DPMS mags are better than the Armalite ones.

AR-15 is colts trademark, but still means Armalite 15.

AR-10 is Armalites Trademark (he was talking about .308)

M-15 is also an Armalite trademark.

edit. Just friendly banter here..... I am not arguing :)

..because I'm right......... AR is Armalite.

False. AR15 were a the commercial designation of the semi auto M16 by Colt.
Armalite do not use AR15 to name the .223 caliber AR . They use M15.
Eugene Stoner sold the right to that gun to Colt.

Todays Armalite is not the original Armalite Company that developed the AR15/M16 under the designer Eugene Stoner.

And back to mags - ALL AR mags are are to come by !!

You have it backwards.

Armalite (fairchild) made the AR-15. It is called an AR for an obvious reason.
ARmalite.
Mr. stoner sold the ARmalite AR-15 to Colt. Who then ran with it and marketed it to the military. Who then called it the M-16.

When Armalite resurfaces they start where the left off with the M-15 (Colt still has the name AR-15 - But the name means ARmalite) and AR-10.

So all the Colt lovers there are shooting Armalites :nest:

Stoner and Jim Sullivan did not sell anything.

Fairchild sold Armalite design to Colt.

Armalite went the way of the dinousaur until Eagle Arms and Mark Westrom bought them up.

The origial AR10 mags - which the SR-25 and other decent 7.62 guns use, as 1,000,000 times better than those worthless bastardized AR10 mags.

I have a few PMAG-LR. When they are released for the masses, those with guns that use a SR25 mag are going to be richly rewarded.

The rest will still be stuck with their POS

Hey Kevin B, I'm shopping for an AR 308 and you seem quite opinionated, what 308 AR rifle would you recommend in Canada?
