I'm looking at aftermarket buffers for my 10/22, but I'm not sure which one to go with. Everyone seems to claim theirs is the only way to go. Are they all the same?

All the same basically, some just go in a little easier. There was a guy on here selling them in the EE, blue ones, but I can't remember his handle. They are really good.

I got one of the blue ones, tuffer buffer or something like that I think the name is.

It is essentially all the same really, I think the blue ones are made in Canada too.

Tuffer Buffer, that's the dude. He's a Canadian guy from CGN. I've got his in both my guns right now, really good fit. The yellow ones were a little loose IMHO.

Do a search for "Tuffer Buffer" on Rimfire Central and see what those guys think!!!
They LOVE that buffer!!!!! (and it's Canadian! :canadaFlag:)

ok i went to the website, what exactly is a buffer for on a ruger?

For me, it eliminated my stove piping issues after I installed the T-B. It made the cycling of the action smoother & quieter.
I actually really enjoy the sound of my 10/22's now with the buffers installed.
No more "clank" when you fire them. It's more of a "thump" now.
Hard to explain...but it sounds cool. :dancingbanana:

Because of this thread, I just ordered a 5 pack of Tuffer Buffers (never hurts to have a couple of spares). It's always good to be able to order a Canadian made product. Now all we need is some Canadian made 10/22 barrels and triggers and we'll be set... ;)

does anybody know how long the tuffer buffer last. i just put one in my ruger 10/22

It will last longer than you. :) Seriously, we're talking tens of thousands of rounds.

I have one in my 10/22 (not a 'tuffer buffer', but same diff) and many thousands of rounds and years later, you can't see ANY wear on it.

Mine is one of the ones that is a solid steel rod about 1/8", covered in polyurathane. Works as advertised!
