well, I just bought a leupold mark 4 4.5-14x40mm longrange scope with 30mm tube for the old price:dancingbanana: (about $400 less) and I was wondering what you guys recomend for rings and bases? It is going on a remington 700 sps tactical 223. Right now I have a 2 peice wever base on it. so what do you guys recomend and where can I buy it from? I also want it to be as low to the barrel as posibal. does anybody have a similar set up and do you guys think I can go with low rings?
I don't mind if I have to buy new bases.
thanks in advance.

Burris Zee Signature Rings, wont bend or damage your scope if over tighten.
Check with local CGN sponsors, almost all will carry these. (eg. Mysticplayer, Lebaron, P&D, Frontier)

I have these, on all my rifles w/ exception of one thats 10 sets from 1" low to 30mm high.

Great rings for the price!

mpjustin,
You can go with low rings. I've actually gotten 50 mm Mark 4s in low rings to clear Remington heavy barrels (Rem Varmint, Police, Sendero contour) by mounting them well forward. That's where I need them anyway. A 40 mm objective should be no problem at all. As for rings, there's lots of good ones.
