I was reading the remington catalog earlier and saw that the 7615 pump action rifle comes with a 10 round AR magazine. Now I know that capacity restrictions apply to the mags themselves so could you legally use one in an AR 15 like the LAR mags?
I am curious as to what is stamped on the base plate of the 10 round mag it came with. Is it 7615-10?
surfer - do you know for a fact that your 10 round magazine is legal, or are you assuming it is because it came with the rifle?
On a side note... did you have any feeding problems using the LAR-15?
I am not 100% sure. I asked the dealer and he told me because it is pump action it is legal. If someone can confirm that it is illegal I will be going back to the dealer pissed!
I will probably have a talk with the RCMP tomorrow to confirm I am in full compliance with the laws. I didn't have any doubt to question it until TFunfer posted pics of his mags.
my understanding from the CFC. is mags limits only apply to firearms that are both center fire & semi auto! there are no restrictions on pump or bolt action rifles!
you are incorrect the limits are to the mags, not the gun. mags designed for semi center fires are limited to 5 rounds.
the 7615 uses ar15 mags, which are designed for a semi auto gun (the AR15), and therefore limited to 5 rounds.
Sorry your wrong. in Manitoba it has been made clear it is the rifle action the dictates the magazine capacity! pump action rifle have no mag. restrictions. check with your C.,F.O.
the only legal ar magazine that holds more that 5 rounds is the one for the rock river pistol, lar-15. All others, no matter what your opinion or what you use them in are prohibited, that's it. No debate. If you are caught with an ar magazine that is not the properly marked ar pistol magazine (as there is only one legal type from one legal importer) you are in possession of a prohibited device and will loose it and all your firearms. Period.

the limits are imposed federally - your provincial cfo has nothing to say about it. Having said that, please get the manitoba's cfo ruling in writing, scan and show it to us.
